View Full Version : My welded diff after 6 months of heavy use...

swapped out my diff cover for one with a solid Aluminum bushing today and decided to snap some pics for you guys at how the welds are doing after 6 months....

He won't take it off for that price... You'll have to take it off and bring it to him. If you bring it to him it takes about 15 minutes.

i was gonna weld mine but i got a 2 way instead... on accident too... lol i have a spare s14 open diff, i might weld it, sell it or keap it open for back up im not sure yet

So when you weld your differental like that, it will stop from one wheel from spinning faster than the other on turns?

yeah, when you weld your diff like that it will lock both axles together so that they always turn the same amount. the weld is literally holding the gears between the axles together.

if you dont drive like an idiot and is always aware of the road conditions and know your entry speeds and traction limits, you will be fine.

sucks at lower speed turns because of the hopping. dont recomend for daily, as it wears random stuff from your car, like bolts, studs, axles, bushings, brakes, links ...and so on.


but other than that, as safe as you can drive.

I don't have to imagine hoping around, it does and plus the shitty Corolla springs eat my ass every bump...but then again i only drive it when i want to...lol
