Is there any way to tell just by looking at it, is the nissan logo and the writing in a different color between obd 1 and 2?

this is kind of useless. but on some site, somewhere, somebody posted the part number of obdII vs obdI ecus. Thats how i figured out i'm obdii. Thats all you have to do to check.

one has a light you trouble shoot from(obd1) and the other has a com link to hook a scaner to(obd2) usually under the dash on the steering wheel. but if you have a ecu laying around or you see some one selling one and they are unsure of the year and weather or not it obd1 or 2, you can download nissan fast program type in the ecu # and it will give you all the info on it the car it came out of, everything down to the interier that was in the car with the ecu. pretty sweet program. it comes in really handy when getting a swap.

hmm i assumed my 95 was OBD1...didn't know there was such controversy. I thought the mandatory OBD2 went in on the 96 models. So i guess i need to go check it. If its OBD2 that defeats the entire purpose of me getting it, since my kouki is obd2 as well.
If it is, anyone wanna do a trade u get S14 plus cash for an S13 w/ Sr20?

I have never seen an OBD2 95. I think that they are all OBD1.
yea, i've always heard that 95 and older 240's are obd1, and 96 and newer are obd2.
