Any benefit to getting a new rack and pinion instead of a remanufacture?
Has anyone ever replaced their own rack and pinion? I'm thinking it will be a pain in the ass and may just pay someone to do it soon.
Whats the price difference/how much do you want to spend?
And pulling a PS rack and swapping it isnt that hard, honestly/if you want to pay someone to do it, pm me.

"dad, what's a rack?"
"it's a country...now go get me a beer"
I'm not sure what they replace in the reman rack so I can't really say if it'd be ok... I've put a used one in my car that leaks a lot and now I've gotta replace it again so...
Theyre not really that hard to replace if you have tools and know what you're doing. I'd be willing to do the work for ya at a decent rate as well...

When I looked into getting a new rack Heritage Nissan in Rome quoted me just over $1200! They told me to look at getting a re-man. O'reilly's sells a Cardone Industries re-man rack for $275. When TopHat did my SR swap I had them put one of these in. Works fine. Haven't had any issues with the rack yet. Yay, first post ftw.

Remans are less than 300 usually it seems, but there is sometimes the core charge. new ones I have found for not much more. I'll prob do a reman.. I just put in a reman master cylinder and it has the same warranty as a new one.. when I get the money and acquire one I'll let one of you guys know. The dealership charges way too much to do the work.
I would have to get an alignment too I'm guessing?

Reman unit just replaces all the stuff that wears out.... I'd say they would be fine. I got a used one from pull a part and it worked out alright.

i would just go with a reman if its a little cheaper since the only things that really wear out are the seals.
