Im looking to buy good speakers, but im having a difficult time deciding on whats good and whats not. I hear alot about infinities to bose to whatever. I found these speakers on ebay that have about 570 watts in it. go to pendergrass flea market, pick out name brand stuff, and don't be afraid to negotiate with them. I put a really nice sounding system together for my dd for under $500 (head unit, sub, amp, and 4 speakers).

Just buy a name brand head unit that puts out 50 watts per channel and get 4 decent speakers. Infinity, MB Quart, etc. Honestly anything that isn't factory or from Walmart will sound fine.
See, thats my point.
Unless you have ears of a hawk, most people can't tell the difference between cheap shit and expensive shit.
Really, you can amp shitty components and they will sound better than anything not amped.

still, if you look at a the stock connectors to like a pioneer its different, plus i already did that shit, I tried connecting everything, nothing worked, I hate working with electrical shit. Thats why i get pple to do it for me who have done it over and over many times before, that way when they are doing it I get to learn how the do it by watching so that in the future i would know how to do it.

If you can't figure out how to install a CD player and some speakers, you really shouldnt attempt to mod a car...ever.
Much less own a S-chassis.
I have 4 se wheels and i'll print out instructions for installing speakers into your car if you buy them from me.

i like pioneer stuff...the premier, or premium or whatever-it's-called head units are only in the $200-300 range for a nicer one. thats what I have in my DD. by the by, VW monsoon bose stock speakers are amazing. too bad you drive a 240 and they suck so muchhhh!

No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I bought these speakers as a quick cheap addition to my Alpine MRP-F300 amp to replace the factory speakers. I was skeptical but because of the price, I figured I wouldn't be losing too much. Well my skepticism. First I had to cut bigger holes in my door panels to accomodate the large magnets. Worse, after about 3 months of regular use at 25 RMS, the speakers started to get that crackling sound when they are about to go out. Even worse, when I replaced my Alpine with an Memphis MCA5004 and gave them a true 125 rms (when their supposingly rated at 120 rms), they started dying even faster. They are definitely not rated accurately, they are poorly built, and a waste of money in all respects.
Also, check some other places for that model number. I've found some for $10-15 less than those on ebay.

I went to pendergrass as well. Spent 150 on my box and mtx 12" sub. It hit's like a motherfucker. I have an 1800 watt kenwood amp that I got from ebay powering it though... As far as the other speakers, I'd go with something you've paid good money for, and don't forget to get tweaters. You don't want to be all bass and mids...

hey man you get what you pay for i did not read all these post but check out this link am not what kind of system you want am sellin two 15s in a box made for these subs 32hz and 4 cubic feet per chamber with a center port i got a thread in here of them i bought the 15s about 4 or 5 months ago for 250 something plus shipping will sell them for 400 in the box let me know man also got a hifonics 1610 2010 model i will let go for another 100 this system is ridicules have it hooked up if you want to hear. Any want it let me know if its your first sytem i can hook you up with some 2awg wire also no way you could build a system better for these price
