View Full Version : Anyone know how to fix speedo or tach?

Okay so i have this huge problem, somethings making my speedometer go out of wack and just jump everywhere, and its killed my tach. Does anyone have any idea or know-how on fixing it? Thanks

for the speedo i know there is a part that plugs into the transmission, that is normally the cause for that.
take it to nissan and have them fix it. :D

yeah i looked at that and idk if thats the cause cause it doesnt look broken.

yes im rollin on professors(they werent that expensive), but i guess i should look into the dealership, considering my friend works there....

It sounds like your speedo sensor is going out.

well besides that, ive taken it out and looked at it and its not chipped or broken..

sounds like an electrical problem to me... I'd say check battery, alternator, and any gague cluster wireing...

I didn't know speedometer use battery/power.
Or am I wrong ?

i dont think it has anything to do with the battery or the alternator, but the gauge cluster wiring might do it.

is it on the ka? i ahve the sr swap and my speedo jumps but only in high rpms. tach works fine

ahh its the ka-e the little engine that can.
I'm really curious about this too. I'd say speed sensor maybe going bad. I had a problem with a ground wire once and ever since I fixed it my tach jumped around a tad but not bad...

well i know its not the sensor because nothing visually is wrong with it but idk, maybe its just a loose connection or ground wire..

mine did that, so i just replaced the entire cluster, for maybe 60 bucks

well im gonna check the connections and if not ill just take it to nissan, they should know.
