I put q45 calipers and rotors on my wifes vert and had to bleed the brakes 3 times so far. "RL,RR,FL,FR" and still pedal to the floor.... we checked for leaks can't find any. anybody had this problem when doing a brake swap?
We do the whole dance till the bubbles stop at every corner, start it up, still soft and to the floor......

Did you do all 4 wheels? If so you will need a bigger Master cylinder. If you only did the fronts the stock one should be OK,(thats what I have).
Master cylinder might need bleeding.

Anti lock?

I just did fronts, and everything was fine just before
If I had a bad connection somewhere it would leak, not cause or make air bubbles would it?

it would do both. as pressure is exuded on the line from the inside, it would leak externally as the pressure is looking for somewhere to release. then when you release the pressure, the fluid pressure is supposed to return to the cylinder. as it does, it draws in air.

go buy a 300zx auto brake booster, and a 300zx brake mastercylinder. it will most deffinately fix your issue.

the thing is, the OEM BMC is designed to push a certain amount of fluid. that amount is figured with specific calipers in mind. now, when you install larger calipers, the BMC can still only push so much fluid. so, in fact, more fluid is needed at the caliper, and the result is a low or soft predal as it cannot keep up with the fluid demands of the calipers.

make sense?

yup, djmerks bleeding sequence is the correct one though.

also a good point.... bleeder should be positioned ontop of the caliper. if you have it on the bottom side, they are reversed, and you need to swap them from left to right, and right to left to orient them correctly.

you start furthest from the BMC, and move closest to the BMC...

page 4 and 5, the fluid seems to travel farthest the the rear left.

nothing ATM, but i am planning/hoping to be able to do an RB swap this winter sometime. i'm gonna try for a front clip, and i plan on rebuilding mostly the entire thing. pistons, rods, N1 oil pump, OEM water pump, OEM timing belt, cams, metal HG, valves, and springs/retainers, larger injectors, larger turbo, external WG, custom stepped header, custom turbo elbow & downpipe combination pipe, lightened flywheel, performance clutch, polished & balanced crank, new main & rod bearings, all gaskets.

should be a decent setup.

and intake. forgot that.

Yea on correct sides, no signs of leaks. But, did see that the rear rotors look like they have been turned a lot. I think the rear pistons are at full extension

stab the master cylinder and it will bleed... depends on what kind of puncturing utensil you use it will either bleed fast or slow...

lol

j/k

bleed from farthest away from the MC to closest. in that order.
