So i tried self charging the A/C system in my Sr today and it was a no go. Everything seems to work as it should...i suppose (blower, compressor and condenser is installed and all lines are as they should be.) So i go to charge it and the meter goes to red and it says i have a serious problem but dunno wat it could be.....anyone have this problem? could it be a bad compressor? help.

to protect compressor, when pressure get to low, relay will switch off your AC.
This might be the reason freon won't get in
Vacuum the line first usually help

Just make sure you are doing it in a closed area. It's illegal to recharge air conditioning if you don't have a license. My buddy got fined 1,000 for doing it in his driveway. He had Nazis neighbors though.

you need an open/ventilated area so you dont' get intoxicated from Freon
You don't need a license for R134. Or am I wrong ?

Your probably right. All I know is my friend got fined, because his neighbors called the police. Not sure of the details though. And when I mentioned closed area. I meant to say like a fenced in area, so people couldn't see you.

you guys should toiletpaper the neighbour.
Wear gloves. Pay cash.
Or get a Harley and start it up at midnight.

if you have a compressor, you can vacuum it.
There is a device (i forgot what it call, fancy name) use compressed air to create vacuum.
Hook it up to your line. Run if for 15 minutes.
Make sure the Vacuum hold good (to ensure no leak)
Charge the Freon, while engine is running and AC in full blast
or you can bring it to any AC place and have them vacuum it for you.
