Disclaimer: I just want a clean nice discussion. Step outside the box, and respone in mature way.

I don't get it. Maybe looking from different point of view will shine some light.
Almost everyday, either in newspaper, internet or TV, media is showing this guy in airforce died in helicopter crashed, and that one passed away in a mission.

Come on. Casualties are inevitable in wars.

What really ticked me off is, CNN was showing this family from someone, thier 2nd children died in IRAQ.
Yes, it is sad, and I feel sorry for them. But they interview them and talk about it for 30 minutes.
I was like, WTF ? What's the big deal ? If you allowed your kids to go to war, they should expected this to be happened.
If you don't want this happen, don't join military.

Fill me in, guys.

Meh, I believe it's for ratings..
They DID die for serving the country, I suppose they should get some kind of history.. or something.

But, I don't think everyone that dies in wars overseas get publicized.

exactly the idea !!

ok. Here is another one. People lowered the flag during 9/11 to remember those who got killed in the attacked. Ok, I understand.
How about those who got killed in Oklahoma boming ? Should we lower the flag too ? People got killed in terrorist attack too. But less people care ! eh?

What is the point of this? Do you want recognition of all those who died in terrorist attacks or in military opperations? Read the Army Times if you want that. Im not seeing the point of this thread, please enlighten me.

Its ironic that all they will show is U.S. Deaths

Never ever hear about the deaths of the enemy.

What a way to make the home land rally around the troops huh?

They dont show the numbers of dead insurgents as most news agencies are against the war. Shiites and Sunnis kill each other at numbers close to 400 a month. They dont show stuff like this becuase they dont want support for the war. They want to run and hide and hope it goes away.

I guess you never seen the westboro baptist church. They go to military funerals and and torment the families and burn flags. They have signs that say shit like "God bless IEDs" and "Thank God for dead Soldiers". These mother fuckers love to see parents crying for their lost children.

i really really want to hurt those people
their actions, whether they are christian or not, are NOT lead by the lord.
if they claim that god is telling them to do this. they have twisted the bible to be what they want it to be and say what they want it to say. "there is a time for peace, and a time for war" - isaiah somtehing... err...

i love how idiots pick and chose scriptures in the bible...

do you really think jesus would have protested war? he NEVER did anything like that.

We did at least get coverage of American troops posing with tortured Middle Eastern slaves. Wasn't long however. Somehow they'd rather spend 2 months talking about Anna Nicole Smiths death...

(IN REPLY TO VIPERBITE) Yeah that westboro baptist claims that God kills soldiers to punish the US for allowing gays. That is there reasoning for doing what they do. Its 100% absord and unarguably retarded but they believe it like its gospel.

yeah see i heard about that on the news or something.... it really pissed me off to hear that...

i really wish a cop would just shoot one of them for crossing over the area they are alowed to protest.

anyone up for some target practice?
and i quote ut2k4 - "HEADSHOT" "DOUBLE KILL" "MULTI-KILL" "MEGA KILL" "MONSTER KILL" "ULTRA KILL" "KILLING SPREE" "RAMPAGE" "UNSTOPPABLE" "GODLIKE" HOOOLLYYY SH*****TTTT"""

mad skills if you can get the last one =D

but in all reality.

if they come to atlanta.
whos up for a fun 240atlanta meet?
we will show them protestors.
gentlemen gather your legal 4 inch blades and keep them pocketed. and UNexposed!
we will park our gangsta 240's in a line infront of them sportin the 240atlanta stickers.

Im part of a group called the Patriot Guard. Its a nation wide motorcycle club that rides out to these funerals with 3x5 ft American flags on the back of their bikes and stands between the families and the protesters. There is nothing like seeing hundreds of bikers with American flags keeping the respect and honor for a fallen hero. The cops also hit the road when the Patriot Guard arrives, so far no protester has been dumb enough to cross them.

I doubt they would try something like that in GA. This state has more Army bases than any other state. That and the south is feircly patriotic. I bet they would get shot trying to enter the graveyard (cuz I would be waiting 300 yards away with something that goes bang).

I just had a vision of a bunch of 240s with american flags on them between protestors and familys. ....and then I imagined them getting turned over... might need to think of a new strategy.
