I can NOT get the lower connection loose on the power steering pressure hose. It is where the hose meets the hardline (like the ones on the BMC). I have drenched it in PB blaster, tried locking pliers, tried locking pliers + line wrench, and the LINE WRENCH is starting to ROUND THE FITTING.

Im going to have to pay someone to change it I guess. The thing leaks badly, as in like every other extended stop = filling the fluid back up. It's leaking from right below the metal part where the top of the hose goes to the power steering pump.

Anyone know any shops south-atlanta that can change this for me? I even have the new hose...

EDIT: I have even replaced my water pump, changed my thermostat, and almost got around to installing my intake, but this one thing is keeping me from driving/getting 5sp practice -_- I'll drive it straight to a shop, but Im hesitant to drive it around locally, daily.

ill tell you what i did, cause this mother fucker is a bitch!!

take large pliers and mount it on the screw, squeeze the pliers as HARD as you can. Take some locking pliers and put it around the handle of the original pliers and lock it in place. You should have a very tight grip on that nut now.

Hold the fitting in your left hand, and with your right, push as hard as you can, it helps if you wrap you thumb and try and twist the fitting in the opposite direction, once you break it lose, its all gravy.

its a bitch, trust me, took me an hour until i came up with that combo-plier idea.

and depending on how old it is, you might need two people to re-mount it. one to squeeze the hard line and the fitting on the pressure hose together, while a guy with a wrench spins it in the middle. We did that, and honestly, if I had used my noggin quicker, would have been done in 5-10 minutes.

But its a learning process, but after you do this hose, you probably wont need a new one on your 240 unless it gets cut, cause these last quite awhile. but its a good feeling of accomplishment when you bust that nut :ninja:

You just need to get yourself a good ol' vicegrip and go to town on that bitch.

It's on there hard, but it's relatives easy to take it off with the "proper" tools, lol.

Vice grip it away.
since it's more visible from the bottom, raise your car up and do it.
You'll have less bloody knuckles.

Hell, even if you can just LOOSEN it for me, then tighten back enough so I can loosen it later.

jack the car up, slide under there, and do it yourself, im telling you, it seems impossible but with a little elbow grease you can get it. im in no way shape or form a body builder and i got it undone by myself.

Yeah, I guess I can give it another try...my fear though is that I'll end up stripping/rounding the fitting.
