I have heard nothing but good things from jarco, and i'm pretty sure i'm goin to get my motorset from them no matter what you guys say, but i'd like a little more feedback before i go buy it on thursday. I know I already had a thread like this, but you know how it is when your about to drop a chunk of money...
So jarco is only selling complete motorsets now because of regulations, but they still testdrive their cars before they remove everything, so it will be a complete running motorset with everything I need.

Other: Spend another $60,000 and get yourself a 2009 US Skyline
seriously, are you going to put the engine in yourself.
Do you have any mechanical background ?
Any warranty on the SR ?

Spend the same as above and create an RB26DETT AWD 240 like they did in Modified a few months back.

I'd rather put 60,000 into an s13 than an ugly skyline
and with the help of some ppl i am goin to do it myself, even though i have not mechanical background. seriously though that offended me. Why would you even ask me that? I do have a mechanical background, and i would like to build it even more.

Not try to offend you.
Putting a different engine is a huge job.
I don't have a mechanical background, but I did tranny work, engine work all by myself. Yes, you can probably do it.
I just want to make sure you know what you are getting into.
RB26DETT in S14 ? That's even worst. Good luck

Its not rocket science.
The worst thing that could possibly happen is I decide its too much work for me and i have to pay someone else to do it which I would have had to do in the first place if i didn't even try. but thats not goin to happen, so im not worried about it.
have i met you turbology? just wondering.

maybe. Are you the one who have always flat front right tires ?
And recently have new front bumper ?
Andy C

nope. Not me
Does jarco already have the motor set or would you be going to request them import one for you? It's always better if you can go look it at, start it up and listen to it, etc. Also you can inspect and make sure that not only are you getting a complete motor set, but also that everything is in good condition, including radiator, intercooler, etc. Even if it's stuff you plan to replace, if the stuff is in good shape it says more for the shape of the motor.
I say if you can go inspect the motor set at jarco, go with jarco. Don't take any chances. Also, if possible you should take someone who is very knowledgeable about sr's with you because they'll know more of what to be looking for. Offer to buy them lunch or whatever it takes to get them to come help you out.

Lunch is not in my budget. jk.
They already have the sr in stock. i talked to him today he said it is a complete motorset and it was driven in japan just like the way they did half cuts. I need to find out if they have the vid.
Anyone want to come wit me to check it out thursday afternoon?

I like J-Hot personally. JARCO is always was overpriced compared to them. SR's from J-Hot are $1600. I have gotten plenty of them now, all good working motors. Some even came with suprises.
Also, RPS13 why would you pay $12+shipping for a AIV plug, when you can just put a nickle in there, and tighten the stock plug back down on it. Perfect fit, and about $11.95 cheaper.
And if you need any help with wiring or install whatever, just give me a call. :)

He's so good at this game he answers my questions before i even ask them. Was just about to question Jhot...i'm on a budget so if its hard to justify paying 2750 if i can get one for 1600 with a good rep. I know i know thats a horrid justification but part of me is willing to risk the chance to save a grand. Specially if someone with loads more of experience with this than i 'recommends' them. Thanks Tyler, you may get a call if i fail at my installation.
