price range?

...

if im not mistaken... ka24de pistons work.
but you wouldnt want OEM de pistons.
go for aftermarket. cp pistons or something like that

and i dont know about other stuff..
google is your friend

n/a go 19:1 COMPRESSION YEAHUH BABY hahahahah lmfao

hes prolly boosting it if i had to guess...
and the ka isnt safe on a wet sump past 7,500 rpm

yeah, im going n/a until i can afford a turbo, or at least go to a junkyard and pull one out. maybe. ive got someone who'll make me a turbo manifold. yeah, the kae block is the same as the kade, so the pistons should fit, yes, im going for aftermarket stuff, but i also need an engine rebuild kit. anyone got any ideas for what type (brand) rebuild kit to go with? my budget right now is about 750 and growing. so yeah...what can i do? i dont know a whole lot about cars right now, but i want to learn, so i am learning by doing. so help me out.

TopLine has pretty good deals on full rebuild kits.

im getting a turbo when i get the money, but for now, im not getting one. topline? is there a website that i can find by google?

suprabrit
08-27-2007, 11:57 PM
Well if you're rebuilding for a turbo, use cp pistons, and performance internals...Top Line is just oem replacement. Of course, it can hold up, but not for high boost app's.

Top Line/Internal Engine Parts...we got it at Advance, and I checked a price and it was pretty damn cheap...

well your gana be rare. theres like one guy in ga whos got kaeT. maybe i can drive it someday?

maybe so. yeah, i need to find a performance rebuild kit, but thanks for looking suprabrit. i just checked out the gaskets and they definitly look like they are for oem replacement, so i am continuing to look. if i have to, ill make my own gasket. haha. but i think i just found one kit for 899. high performance.

You can use Fel-Pro gaskets for everything. I'd recommend a metal hg though.

definitly. well, i just found this on nissan forums

hey guys I am currently building sohc motor to the max.the ka24e is and awesome motor and is very strong.ya its a little expensive for some parts but i garantee you it is worth every dime.It already has a forged crank so all you need is forged pistons and rods a 3 angle valve job with a stage 2 port and polished your block decked and honed and balanced and your ka will put out some serious power i can run 20-25psi of boost and never even think about hurting an internal part .with 15psi you can put out around 550whp and trust me it puts those srs to shame!!!!!!!

thats what i want.im not worried about that much hp, but the rebuild kit for 899 is recommended for up to 30 psi, but im not going to fully trust, or test that out.

and this is the site, what do yall think?

550whp in 15psi ? Whoever said that is retard.

I ran 7psi and I only get 180whp. bleh !

Beez_S13
08-28-2007, 01:42 AM
yeah, but the guy isnt talking about running stock internals, hes saying with forged crankshaft, pistons and rods, 3 angle valve job, ported and polished, honed and balanced. i dont know what you have done with yours, but hes not talking about just slapping on a turbo. im not either, im actually planning on building the engine first.

How many miles are on your motor?

turbology
08-28-2007, 01:50 AM
okay....
my 7psi give me extra 60whp. If I ran 15psi, optimistically, say it give me 180whp. 300whp total.
forged crankshaft, pistons, rods, honed, balanced, don't increase HP. It just an INSURANCE.
3 angle valve job, ported and polished , give you extra 250whp ??

A 4G63, with 1/2 fuel line, 1600cc injectors, HUGE intercooler, T66 turbo, 4 inches exhaust (yes, four inches) running 29psi, $3000 header, port and polish whatever, only make 480whp.

550whp @15psi ?? BS !! Stop listening to whoever says that. Stick to real physic.

true, but im still dreaming. still though, when i get done, its going to be pretty cool either way. 250 horsepower, or 550. you might have only gotten 180 hp, but a few more things and a tune up, and its definitly 200+

so maybe i can drive it someday? k thanks

y r u up so early

i get up at 5 to go to college. so i am at the student center at spsu. but yes, maybe you can drive it someday. in the meantime, i still need to pull the engine, rebuild it, make an exhaust and an intake, create a logo for the exhaust and intake by using a sandblaster and a pattern, work on the engine, work on the suspension, work on the interior, work on the engine, and yeah, a lot of work.

but a few more things and a tune up, and its definitly 200+

believe me, there's nothing else left to be tuned.
AFR at near 13 underboost is as lean as it can get

alright, i believe you, but since i dont know a whole lot about cars, im just going on what people say and then researching it, thanks for pointing that out, any help is appreciated. but what would you recommend i do? what type of rebuild kit should i try for? and if you could point out a specific site for me, that would be great. and as i have found so fat, the cp pistons are going in unless i fine anything better, but for gaskets, i really dont know where to go.i want bulletproof horsepower, and not have to worry about internals blowing. the rebuild kit i put the site up for is recommended to 30 psi and high horsepower. im just going by what it said though.

turbology
08-28-2007, 06:39 PM
just go with the rebuilt kit.
There's no such thing as bulletproof block.
What's final compression ratio if you use the kit ?

If you are going to run 30psi, you should able to see around 450-500whp with the supporting mod (fuel line, IC, exhaust, p&p, new Intake mani, fancy equal length ex. mani, big injectors, and most important : engine management)

Beez_S13
08-28-2007, 08:38 PM
im not sure what the final compression is. i found another kit, and i dont know whether or not to use it, its only about 600, and a little more within the price range, heres the site if someone could check it out and tell me if its a waste of money or a good buy
http://www.rpmrons.com/Nissankits.html
thanks turbology. i dont think that i will be running 30 psi, but it would be pretty awesome. also thanks for the suggested mods.

turbology
08-28-2007, 09:49 PM
Are these OEM rebuilt kit ?
Are they stronger , lighter ?
It does say what kind of rod it use.
The other one has copper gasket that can withhold 30psi

Beez_S13
08-29-2007, 07:50 PM
yeah, im gonna email the place about it and see what all the stuff is.

what i think i am going to do is just order the metal headgasket from IPP and everything else from RPM.

turbology
08-30-2007, 05:37 AM
metal gasket ? what kind of metal ?

Casey
08-30-2007, 06:11 AM
ok you should really just buy each thing you need individually... bearings, everything individually and aftermarket from a performance company.
if youre gonna run 30 pounds you need aftermarket forged rods and pistons so you dont sling one. but most importatnly.
upgraded main studs. rod studs and head studs.
metal or cometic head gasket is a must with motor builds...
the head is fine. just dont overrev it and you wont break anything up there.

metal gasket ? what kind of metal ?

magnesium alloy FTMFW!

Beez_S13
08-30-2007, 11:37 AM
ok. so where should i go to buy all these things? i know that the block of the ka24e and ka24de are the same, so i can definitly start from there, but can anyone give me sites while i google? thanks.
