Alright, Well here is a negative Tech review.

^
I have megan racing rear toe links on my car. along with too many other megan racing products on there aswell.
anyways, so i started noticing a little clunk on and off throttle. and when i lifted weight off the drivers wheel around left hand corners.
so i got curious. and figured it was wheel bearing or something like that... anyways.
me and jackson *bigjack* jacked the rear of my car up and i tried wiggling the wheel... it moved. and i instantly thought. fuck another wheel bearing bad. FML
so we started fiddling with it some more and i noticed it only wiggled Side to Side *so that toe would be more or less.
then it hit me. oh ive got megan racing rear toe arms. i bet thats it.
so we scooted under the car and put our finger on the joint. and wiggled the wheel again. BAM another megan racing joint bites the dust.
thats TWO joints ive had go bad on me. i dont know if yall remember but i had megan racing TIE RODS go bad.
FUCKING TIE RODS. as in, i slammed on my brakes for an emergency stop and the passenger wheel wiggled violently.... i instantly stuck the stock ones back on and trashed the megan shit.
so back to the rear toe arms, Im going to be calling tomorrow to complain to megan racing about this. im not expecting much....

well. I was gonna buy some of their coilovers pretty soon.
but if their customer service sucks this bad, I want no part of it.
K-sport did this shit to me. I blew a shock at black hills early last year... stuff had not been on the car very long... they claimed since the car had been on track they wouldn't warranty it. WTH happened to it being a "race" suspension!?

i filled a complaint with BBB
hopefully they get back to me. I suggested the minimum megan racing do is send me a formal apology for risking my fucking life.

The only megan parts I would buy are exhaust peices, cas if they break or start to leak the worse thing that could happen is some carbon built up under the car and\or lots of noise.
I wont be buying any cheap exhaust parts for the subby though cas if they leak it might cause a fire due to large fire balls that tend to come along with putting exhaust on a subby.

Well then the gentleman running a turbo setup, those tend to shoot some serious fireballs sometimes as well depending on the setup. If you have a leak the fireballs tend to come out of the leaky portions of the exhaust piping... If there are any plastic or rubber parts around where the leak occurs it could cause quite an issue...

The only good thing I can say is that in the past 5k miles I've been driving on my Megan Racing coilovers nothing has broken. I have no other experience with their products personally but have seen what happened with Casey's front inner tie rods and now these toe rods. All it is is 1mm of play and that's all it takes for it to to be a shitty product. In both cases the problem was the pillowball mount/ball joint. I will never buy another Megan Racing product again after Casey's experiences.

Yea that does suck, But i've seen a lot of tie rod ends break on 240s usually because they are lowered and put into a bind not saying megan is the best but sometimes there are other factors that add to the demise of a part

yeah but that really wasnt the reason.
i had coilovers.
and 17x9 255 40 17's
the height i had was barely making the tie rods level.

like seriously, the tie rods were on the car 8 months before they developed play. i noticed it when i emergency braked.
the rear toe arms were a little bit older. and i got them used. but to me, having two joints out of 4 sets of megan arms i own go bad. thats not a fluke its not from age its from shitty crafstmanship. so, fuck megan racing
like seoirusly, when the tie rods went bad. i blamed it on a fluke and counted my losses. sold the ends and was done with it. back to stock.
but now fuckin rear toe goes bad. next is going to be my rucas then my tension rods. within 2 years i guarentee all of them go bad.
i cant go back to stock arms because of my suspention setup. i need tension rods to get my caster in spec. and i need rucas to get my camber to the spec i want for the wide tires i have. so im in a bind. im going to end up buying SPL tension rods, rucas, and rear toe. z33 tie rods, SPL ends. and eventually SPL traction rods SPL press in spherical bushings for the rear uprights. *expensive LOL* but eventually tahts what i want. thats a failsafe setup. it wont go bad unless i am in a wreck.
megan arms cant even take the abuse of a fucking street driver. ME, i dont drift on the road, i drive highway alot of the time. i dont have a welded diff anymore, and never had one with the arms that i have. i had an open diff for a LONG time then a mushy ass vlsd.

oh and to add to the setup arrangement.
the front tie rods were no fluke.
let me explain when i had tein tension rods.
i got them from krappy on here 2.5 years go.
they went on the car. first mod i did. AMAZING mod i loved it. they were used and in good condition.
i drove the car for a while. over the time owning my car i hydroplaned and went into a ditch and rolled into a field. this bent my brackets but not the arms.
i then drifted around a corner and slid into a dirt curb scratching my wheel and denting my LCA... still no bent tension rod.
i then hit a mailbox with a 3 brick tall border at the bottom. this SLIGHTLY bent the rim lip and blew a tire. bent my LCA back on the drivers side. and STILL NO BENT TENSION RODS. they were perfect. even the front brackets and the bolts that went through them.
with the megan tie rods, i hit the mailbox but oddly enough the tie rod that went bad was the PASS rod, and my DRIVERS wheel hit the mailbox.
8 months of driving. other than those things. nothing abnormal happened. there was no reason the pass tie rod should have been damaged and it was the first one to go. the drivers had a small amount of play.
granted, their rods and ends never BENT but their joints suck ass.

thats the plan. im going to put the car back on jackstands and raise the ride height up so i can swap to stock tie rods *to get rear toe enough in spec while having ~1 deg camber
i really still need an alignment bad. lol
the tension rods do not feel DENSE like the teins did.
im not skimping on arms anymore. oh and i made a mistake im going to be getting the PBM rear toe arms so i can dump the shit out of the car haha

because the only part in the joint that can break is the whole pillowball assembly. the ball... inside the pillow... has play.

what would cause the pillow ball to have play like that?

just shitty fucking joints man.
the metal deteriorates
when you make a product.
there is a thing called TOLORANCES
there is usually a tried and true standard for tolorances. so these companies take thos enumbers. manufacture some joints and hope for the best.
whereas. companies like cusco. take those numbers, and correspond the correct metals that go along with those numbers. they factor in any heat expansion or contraction. metal types and differences in the two metals expanding. they also use QUALITY metals. ask any welder, the quality or PURITY of a metal will show when you weld it. or apply force to it ect ect.
megan racing joints are like someone not plastigauging their main and rod bearings before running an engine. sure it might work for a while. but if one or more of them are off for whatever reason. then youre gonna have an issue.

i also put 40,000 miles on my car in 2 years
its a 240 lol.
the hydroplane thing was a fluke. it was a section of SPRAY ON pavement repair, and puddled water ontop of it. i was going under the speed limit. you can ask my girlfriend lol. i seriously slooooowly skidded off the road onto a curb. freaked me out. shitty fusion tires.
the other two were drift wrecks. i havent slid on the streets in over a year which was when the mailbox incident happened

is hydroplaning really that hard to control? seems like a lot of people freak out, and then bad things happened.
i use to run bald tires, with the wires poking out, and hydroplane on my daily, and it wasn't anything i couldn't handle. most of the time going 50+...during a turn, straight, anything.

well the thing is. i had decent tires
but the situation i was in was a combination of things. a road that had sink holes from where tires drove on it for a long time. puddled water. around a left hand corner.
it stopped turning. i slamed on the brakes. i should have ripped the ebrake to keep it under control. but i was lucky because if i did that i would have been in a head on collision.
what you experienced probably wasnt hydroplaning.
hydroplaning is when you loose all steering and your front wheels turn into skii's instead. its not on surface water its on puddles of water
you have zero control on the front wheels. the solution is to eliminate grip on the rear wheels to provoke oversteer rather than understeer.
