need help on s13 swap

ok i am swaping my rod knocked ka24de for a new one.it was going smooth untile we tried to pull it out the steering colum or sumthing is blocking the exaust manifold so it wont come out everthing is unbolted and unpluged.
let me know what to do please....

No. Downpipe is connected to the exhaust manifold. It connects the exhaust mani and the rest of the exhaust.

Yes. If you didn't take that off, how do you think the motor was supposed to come out. ;)

no tony is dumb i did most everything..

ok the EGR is like wrapped around the steering column, do we have to undo the steering coulomn or take off that EGR pipe? we used wrenches and an adjustable wrench to try and take the pipe off the header and it just stips..

i was thinking just unbolt the steering coulumn and move it and just pull the motor up

No, ok there are two EGR tubes. You have them mixed up.

The one that is your problem is not bolted into the header. The one bolted into the header wraps around the back of the motor into the intake. Leave that one alone.

Your problem is the one connected to your downpipe. It wraps around and connects to a hose. Just take that hose off. But really, if you unbolt the downpipe from the manifold, you don't need to worry about that tube at all.

Well you don't have to remove them at all. So cutting them off would be extra work. ;)
