does anyone know why when i turn my car off it still runs even without the key in it for about 10 seconds? i dont have a turbo timer so this is kind of weird. also if i turn the key so just the power comes on, like the lights and shit, then turn it off and pull the key out the lights on the dash stay on as well just for a few seconds.

also when i put my car in gear then let off the clutch the tranny grinds until i push in the clutch:crying:. it mostly only does it in reverse any help would be awesome.

LMAO tylers editing posts =D

is it still running perfectly or is it just kinda clunking its way off...
if its running perfectly i have no freaking idea... if its clunking its way off... its probably something with the engine ignition... like if its clunking off... there could be a leak past the throttle plate...
im not sure tho.

to kill the engine, you either:
1. shut the ignitinon. no spark, no combustion,
2. shut the fuel pump. no fuel, no combustion.

When you turn your key to off, you kill both power to ignition and fuel pump.
From your description, look like your fuel pump is off, but not your ignition. That's is why you car can still idle for 10 seconds after it is turn off, because there is still pressure in the fuel line.

I would check your wiring. Your wires probably have crossed or maybe CAPS leak in ECU.

sign of clutch master/slave cylinder is dying.
When you try to fully disengage the clutch, the clutch folk is not all the way push down. And this cause the clutch slightly engage. And this can cause gridding. Just like when you "miss a shift"

Here is what you need to do:
1. Flash your clutch line. Refill with clean oil. If you know how to flush your brake, this will be piece of cake.

If it doesn't help.
2. Take off you Clutch Slave cylinder. Clean it with Brake cleaner. If it show significant of wear , or if you have $$, replace the "pistion" or the whole slave cylinder. And you have to flush your clutch when you do this.

if still don't work:
3. Take off you Master Clutch Cylinder. Like Slave Cylinder, take it out, clean it. Replace the piston if needed. If have $$, replace the whole thing.

you have something tapped into your fuel pump fuse dont you? thats why your car still runs after the key is removed. go look at your car. i guarantee thats what it is.

i see this question come up on other boards a lot. especially with SR, or RB swapped cars with electric fans.

Check your ignition wires.
power wires.
any fraying or shorts.

I cant see it staying on because of an electric fan or something.

Having any problems starting back up after a good day's sit?

oooooohhhhh i think i know why putting fans on your fuel pump causes the engine to run ...

a fan can either use power, or act as an alternator and make power.

its an electro magnet,
so it sounds like the fan would stay spinning, and give the fuel pump enough power to pump more gas into the injectors.
