Yes, I started out life in drifting on the very wrong note, I made myself out to be something I wasn't, and lied to a lot of people that I considered my friends. Okay . . .that was over 2 years ago.

Dave Adams is one of the best people I have ever met since I have come out to these events.

He will freely talk to anyone, he is supportive, encouraging, he is funny as shit and he seems to have a very good attitude about the whole scene. Its all fun. Now what happened in the past *shrug* I dunno, Wasn't there but he definitely does not come off as a "poser" to me.

He is encouraging, His knowledge exceeds his abilities (Sort of like me) And perhaps in conversation its easy to "appear" a poser maybe when you are discussing things outside of your skill level? But he has never claimed to be better than he is, he doesnt have this air of superiority that I pick up from SO many people I have met at these events.

Oh for the record..Sponsor ships are more than about driving ability.


As a sponsored driver you are the face for that product/company. Dave has the interpersonnal skills, He has the charisma and he has the ability to just make people feel good about themselves when he talks to them.

This gives a very positive association to those stickers on his car and helps motivate people to support them and buy their products. Keep that In mind. This is a BIG reason why alot of "GREAT" drivers end their careers early because opportunities just never come along. even if you can drive, if you cant represent your sponsor well and deal with people intelligently you are going to have a hard time.

It's not a full ride sponsorship, I never claimed it was.

The complete story is this.

I was going to present the Bullitt to them to do some work and get a caged popped in there so I can get back into tandem and get back in the groove of sliding with other cars. They informed me that I can probably become more competitive, for less money, in a 240. Some talking went by and I presented the idea of building a 240, leaving it at the shop and just driving it at events.

I agreed to buy the car, and pay for the parts/labor and represent the shop. In turn, they agreed to help me out as much as possible whenever possible as far as upgrades and repairs are concerned.

I don't believe I ever said it was a full ride sponsorship, I may have made reference to the fact that it IS the closest I will probably EVER get to a full ride sponsorship so I'm gonna jump on it. But I seriously doubt I've ever said "this is gonna be a car, they're building for free simply because I'm that awesome." I'm not that good, I've only been drifting for just over a year. I have a long way to go. Do I think I'm doing well considering my platform and time-in-drifting . . .yes, I do, but with that I also understand that I can and will continue to expand and grow.

Now, if I ever HAVE said that this would be a complete and utter full ride sponsorship, I apologize for that mis-information, and am willing to admit that this isn't the case. But I don't think I've ever said that . . .

Yes, they're building the S14
Yes, it's going to remain at the shop because I will not have any purpose for bringing a drift-spec S14 home.
Yes, they will be putting their stickers all over it and helping me out as they can.
Yes, I'm still paying for the car.
No, I'm not getting any hand outs because at this stage in my driving career/path, I don't deserve handouts.

That said, I won't mind and damn sure won't turn away any support/help that a shop, especially one as reputable as Lethal Injection Motorsports, offers up. Even if it's just a little.

Ohhh, okay, I see where the confusion comes in. Fair enough and I'll attempt to clarify . . . Nick Ward, Adam Goodman and Sean Morgan are drivers for Lethal as well. From what I've seen, none of us get anything handed to us, but we all represent Lethal because we enjoy being a part of the team there and they have a quality about their work that is difficult to match and beat. To add to that, the environment there is very welcoming and friendly and it can quickly become a second home.

No, I'm not the best driver in their line up, but at the same time, I'd like to believe that I'm competent enough to respectfully and wholly represent Lethal's craftsmanship and sense of motorsports. I'm not trying to be the next (insert your favorite professional drifter here), I'm just trying to be me and have fun with drifting. If I can do this and at the same time be given the honor and privilege of representing an awesome, professional and very respected specialty tune shop every time I'm out there, then why not take that opportunity?

There are 2 problems with people like that.

1. - Posers begin to convince young kids of things that are not true, and the young kids that don't know their ear from their asshole start following this person because they put on a false image that leads others to believe things that may not be true.

2. - If this kind of behavior goes unchecked, then others begin to think this is acceptable behavior. That is unacceptable, and should be snipped at the bud.

Like Byron said, you're talking about people you yourself said that you don't even know. Don't keep going down this way just to defend yourself and someone you THINK you know.

This is all really embarassing for 240atlanta - this is the main complaint that everyone has about this site - it tends to be very juvenile and petty...I think this was why Drift Mechaniks was changed to GossipGirls.

Marty was actually very calculating and sneaky in this post - he didn't actually say anything bad but he knew by putting up the thread, it would spawn a string of deragatory posts - but what he, probably, doesn't know, is that a new law was just put on the books in regards to the posting of a person's name on a internet forum where searchable deragatory information can be found from the posting of a person's name. The law also states that the poster of the "thread and/or blog" can be held personally responsible for any defamation of character. This law was placed to relieve internet forum sites of responsiblity for the posting of information on their site but rather transfer all legal and financial responsibility to the poster.

So David you should probably contact your attorney in the morning to investigate further...some people just need a good kick in the ass to learn their lesson.

If they do the work on your car, and you have a motor that runs good, sounds good, and has been done properly, you're basically a walking talking billboard for that shop.

My main hard drive crashed on my computer, so the reupload included the backdated version of the radio links. I have EVERY episode archived though so if you can name a date or a time-frame within the month it aired, I can have it uploaded for review. I still don't remember calling you out, no reason to, I have nothing against you, but okay.

I'm not driving at the next triple threat but I don't mind going tandem if you can arrange for both of us to have vehicles.
