ok so im new to this and idk if this is even the right sectio nto post in, but my question is: if i get a s13 with hicas would that be able to be disabled? because from what i read its like 4 wheel steering basically(correct me if im wrong) and so wouldn't that make it more difficult to drift? but if it would be possible to disable please let me know, because i am interested in jj's s13 he has for sale

i just realized this hsould be in the suspension section....

be like me and have no power steering, it disables HICAS!!!

theres also rumors that it helps with your low power drifting because it helps kick out your rear-end, but then again, the guy was trying to sell the car to me, so he might of been bull shitting.

but overall, i would take everything besides the steering from HICAS, its got a Viscus Limited Slip Differential, which is so much fun. It has ABS, which at an amateur level of drifting I would prefer, because think about how many accidents would have been saved if they didnt lock up their brakes when they understeered towards a curb. I know for a fact that its saved me a couple times in the rain heading towards a curb after i did a little clutchy-kicky when it just started raining.

For drifting...

-ABS=NEVER!
-HICAS=Is a NO NO!!!
-Power Steering=You will want it in an s13 trust me. Snap back will break your damn wrist if your not careful w/o it.

Just get hicas eliminators and throw away the abs unit.

do you own thing, ive been running the opposite of what they say and ive had plenty of people compliment my style. my forearms do hurt like a bitch after a session though.

does anyone have pictures comparing the stock rear subframe to a hicas one? i was told my car has hicas eliminated, by numerous people, but then again, some say i have it, i dont know who to believe and google isnt finding anything.
