So, I'm saving up money to put another engine in my 240 after going through another (used) KA.

I have the option of replacing my kade with another one, saving up for an sr20det, an rb20de or an rb20det.

This car is going to double as my daily driver. As far as drifting goes, I may go down to black hills a day every two months.

I'm a college student, so cheaper is preferred but I also want to enjoy my 240 if I'm putting the money and time into it.

I'm worried about the hassle with turbo's, and if something were to go wrong, I might not have the money to replace it.

Basically, I want a reliable DD that I can go have fun in once in a while, and that I don't have to dump all of my money in.

I was hoping a few of you guys might have personal opinions.

"Reliable" and "turbo" don't go in the same sentence.

You need to do the horse conversion. The electric motor one is becoming way too popular. Maybe steam though.

Flintstone swaps are pretty common too. And reliable. :)

Be sure to wear shoes though. I, myself, prefer the nuclear reactor conversion.

I lost my breath reading this post.

A usdm motor will be better for reliability, obviously, b/c of the availability of parts.

Stick w/ the KA for a daily. I had mine for 4 years of daily abuse and drift abuse and it finally blew but I put that thing through some hell! It saw and sat on redline like a champ at events haha!

"Reliable" and "turbo" don't go in the same sentence.

I had 4 1/2 years of turbo KA. NEVER have engine related problem.
24 hours Le Man, Rally cars, most run turbo. Never have a problem either.

That's b/c you probably did it right.

So many ppl expect to be able to slap a turbo on a stock ka and run 15psi and nothing happen. You know what I mean...

My bad...cars with aftermarket turbos are as a rule not as reliable. Unless done correctly. But the majority of people don't do it right...
