Anybody know of a lasting way to change wheel color besides powder coating...something a little DIY. thanks

I've used the DupliColor wheel paint quite a few times, and never had a problem with it. You can also use engine enamel, and the MetalCast which usually looks pretty good too.

If you want them to look real good, sand them first, spray them, then wet sand them. Be careful what clearcoat you use though, if you mix brands, the clear coat reacts with the paint and looks crappy. Trust me on this. So if you use the wheel paint, use the wheel paint clear coat...etc.

Hope that helps. :)

It will never looks exactly like powdercoat, but it still looks pretty good.

Anyone who knows me knows I can't stand silver wheels. Every set gets painted. Except for my Nismo's. I wouldn't ever paint those (duh).

i used auto paint and a spray gun if you have one at home, with a compressor that is.

thats pretty much what is on most aftermarket or oem painted wheels. good luck.

Get some 600 grit and wet sand, then go to 800 or 1000 grit.
If you feel confidant you can use 400 but be careful not to gouge it.
