What are the rules and regulations governing battery relocation for local-level events? Do the local organizations use SCCA rules for this?
Looking for info on types of batteries allowed inside with and without sealed boxes, if boxes are needed for gel and dry cell batteries, tie down specs, terminal covers, cut off switches, etc etc etc.
TIA!!

The battery must be in a sealed box only if it's relocated to the cabin. You always need a terminal cover, tie down MUST be metal, and cutoff switches are not required for local events.
If you put it in a box, the box MUST be mounted to the car, and the battery MUST still be tied down in the box.

So even dry cell and gel batteries need a sealed box?

im telling you.. use a belt. ive went threw two. after the bat. flipped over like 6 times the acid started to eat away at the belt. but if you just change your belts every 3000 miles or so you should be fine.

Well if I were running tech, they would fail. But they're not my events.

Just put the battery in the trunk then if you don't want to use a box.
