I think you gotta reprogram your ECU

Find an automatic transmission ecu. I believe it still works and gets rid of the rev-limiter. Your better off to ask Hellfire though. He knows about that stuff.

It would be hard to find an automatic ecu for a sr20. I'm sure theres some wire you can cut. What speed does it cut off?

Usually if you drive your car off into a cliff it will fix all your needs.

The rev-limiter isnt what he wants to get rid of... Rev-limiters are a good thing. He wants to take off the governer... that is what limits your top speed.

do what i did then i stil have a rev limiter just no top speed limiter
so you unplugged your speed sensor and you no longer have a govener but still have a rev-limiter? and thats what you were going for right?

yeah speed sensor unplugs from ur tranny just the plug though not the acutall speed sensor revlimiter has nothing to do with tranny
yea i know... he was sayin you need to get rid of your rev limiter and that is nowhere near the same as the governer which is what you were wanting to get rid of. thats what i was sayin.

on KA.. iirc, we jsut have to snip a wire going to the ecu and it gets rid of the speed gov.
im not sure how it'd be different on a sr.

HKS speed defencer.... being jdm has its advantages... do it right and run by civics because civics make baby jesus cry.....

lol civics suck
oh and for the ka24de
you can swap the manual ecu for the auto ecu and it gets rid of the speed govenor. but i dont know about sr's

curious how many civics past 135? and if they do im sure it would take alot longer than an SR would

I thought the speed governor was at 111-112mph for a KA. My friends manual KA maxes out in 4th gear and 5th seems like its there for better gas mileage as opposed to speed.

Sorry, thats what I meant to say. I don't know why I put rev-limiter.

personally i like knowing how fast im going when a cop is riding my ass or somthing. i would not just unplug the speed sensor. maybe a toggle switch or somthing. you could turn it of when you need the extra speed

i used to run an auto SR ecu, but i still had a speed limiter, it was like 123mph, which was pretty fast but i always want to go faster, & now i can

On the sr all you need to do is clip the yellow/ green wire witch is pin 31 on the ecu harness.

lol, thats why its called OVERDRIVE lolololol
but yeah, for KAs its the green and yellow wire, dont unplug the speed sensor, that will take off your speedometer, the speed sensor goes from tranny to gauge cluster to ECU, so cut the cluster to ECU wire (green and yellow) Youll keep speedometer and get rid of top speed limiter, but youll still have rev limiter (5k in 4th and 5th) so watch out for that.
