View Full Version : Car tuned at Lethal.

As some of you know, I was in Atlanta this last week. I dropped the car off Tuesday at the shop. It was in for Power FC D-Jetro, 550cc Nismos, New IC pipe, And the tune. Once getting the car, Dave ran into a few problems with the wiring. The Power FC wasn't getting enough power, Nor was the IACV or 02. Which would explain my awful idle problems. However, Dave promptly bitch slapped those issues in the face, And all is well. The Power FC gets the right amount of power, The 02 works, and the car idles.
The IC pipe kyle made is baller, No more rusted galvanized steel back yard special pipe. Everything fits, and that hump hose off the turbo is gone for ever. Also, Got all new T-bolts so no more blowing IC pipe on the side of interstates.
The tune is solid and the A/F is right where it needs to be. No hicups or misses in the high rev range like I used to get. The car is actually running right for once. It made the 5 hour drive home with no problems, And still got 36 to 38MPG highway.
Wile, I would post the numbers/dyno chart, I don't want the local people knowing what I have. (a couple of them post on this site, And word travels to fast here.) I will say this though, I now know what its like to be sideways at 80mph wile racing an STi on the interstate.
Anyhow, I would like to thank Lethal for all they have done, And most importantly thank Dave and Derrick for going out of their way to help me. I would 100% recommend them to anyone looking for a good shop.

Yeah, Deff FTW. Not sure what I'm going to do with the old stuff. Maybe melt it down for shits and giggles.

Yeah, Like I said I would post up numbers, But i've already said enough if one of the locals read this thread. The lag is alright, I really need to get a boost controller as my external waste gate is being lazy.

thanks again man, it was great finally meeting you.
i'm looking forward to checking out some new threads in the killsforums =]
Boost controller would definitely help the wastegate's stability, and let u make solid 10 pounds (or whatever boost u wanna run) from start to finish.
i would probably put a nice disco potato (gt28/60rs) on there with a good electronic boost controller then come back and let us retune it once you get the funds up. in the meantime, ROCKER ARM STOPPERS are your friend! :D
i'll stop lecturing u now, lol, take care

Yeah, I had a good time up at the shop and hanging out for a bit. Also, I found out that ?lamb? is quite tasty.
I don't want to go back to a T28, That would just look silly top mount. And I would have to get a new coldpipe. I'm getting Tomei RAS, And a new Koyo as the next mod. You know how bad I need both.
Lol
? That was me lying to my self so I wouldn't have to spend the money. Plus, You don't really know my long term ideas with this car now do you.

I think you need a new blowoff valve, ras, boost controller, and 12psi!!! Do it!

T28 and GT2860 are two different turbos. GT2860 is one step down from a GT2871.

oh yeah, i forgot you had a t3 flange already. even better.
most gt28/71's i've seen hit full boost around 4400 rpm.....
we just got some baller precision gt30's that hit ~14psi @ 3400rpm on a stock sr, (i just got done tuning an sr car with one)........so not only do you have quicker spool by 1000rpm, you have a turbo capable of 400+rwhp.
Even if you built your motor you wouldn't need to upgrade the turbo after that....
i'm trying to cop one for myself ^_^ for me little blu 510, i'm sure on a 2.4liter it'd make ~20+psi before 4000 easily, probably more around the 3500 range
it's all about powerband
*EDIT* we no longer have any baller gt30's available, sorry

Damn, One of those sound nice. Maybe in a little bit. I still want to ride on my turbo until it starts to give me problems. As for peak numbers, You know how I feel about those.

Haha, Everyone asking for numbers. First post :).
Heres a quick video though. Roll on from 1st, then running it out till around 6500rpms in 3rd. You can hear the car fighting for traction. Even with my star specs, Its not happening. Time for some wider rubber.

Drifting costs too much lol.

you get more seat time in drifting than in any other local driving sport
why get cheap 13 second sex when you can slide for close to 30 minutes or more of drive time.

Like I said, costs too much. I'll be out there drifting soon enough, though.
