Why is it that Asian and Indian people are so demanding over the phone? They don't ever ask a question, they yell it and demand it. I've noticed this isn't with like one or two asian or indian people, it's with all of them. Then they get super pissed when you can't meet their demands.

I just started wondering why they were like this. Thanks.

Just the different cultures way of expressing themselves especially when they are at the barganing table. Americans are more polite ( wusses ) when barganing.

I dealt with numerous clients of all races, colors, backgrounds, and locations, and have never noticed a single thing that was 100% true for any one group. People are diverse by nature! if you are the common denominator, maybe you bring it out of people? Just a thought...

I noticed this too at Fry's. At least with Middle Eastern dudes. The other day one guy came in and wanted a little adapter piece that came in a pack. When I politely told him he would have to buy the whole pack he got pissed and tried to persuade me into letting him take it apart. Another on Black Friday tried to get away with taking one of the little mesh shopping bags we have that aren't for sale. He was like "I like this, I'm keeping it."and even argued with the cashier for it. Finally she let him take it knowing he'd get stopped at the door and sure enough we needed two managers to get him to leave without the bag. The whole time he had a smile on his face like it was owed to him. I agree they are smarter than us but they lack common courtesy. I think if I was truly racist it'd be against Indian guys because of their attitude to society. I do know some cool Desi's though, Americanized ones. Goes to show that it is just the different cultures.

I notice it with a lot of the asians that aren't americanised. For instance when you see some of the chinese or japanese conversating between each other, it almost seems as if they are arguing because of their tone of voice. But then you see them burst out in laughter or make joking gestures. It's just a part of their cultural up-bringing. Indians however are a different case. It's bad enough if you're not of their ethnicity and worse if you're a woman. Again it is only a problem with those that aren't used to American culture. All in all take it in stride and don't let it bother you, people will always be who they want. And I'm sure if they are being a complete ass hole to you it doesn't go unpunished.

I actually agree with most of the people here. I work and haved for 3 1/2 years at Sonic. (exit 12, come out ill hook it up) Anyways, I believe most of the rude, inconsiderate, selfish people would most likely be Blacks and Indians, yet some asians too. Im not racist or anything, but black people never tip. If they asked for no pickles on their sandwhich, they throw the biggest fit to get an entire new meal, and their money back. I mean cmon now, its 3 pickles on a sandwhich, take them off instead of making a scene. But at the same time if you think about it, their is also white people out their who are bitchs too. I don't think you can have a debate on what every race is due to the fact everyone in their culture isn't the same. If any of that made sense...haha

^^ You make sense don't get me wrong. But some cultures just have that engrained in them you know what I mean. Like that is how they are brought up on that side of the world (where ever they might be from). Basically what I mean is, you see it more from certain cultures than from others because of this. I'm black and I can understand where you're coming from when you say black people are a certain way because I agree. But you can tell where they come from and why they are like that..........the really bad ones atleast. But other cultures when you see how they interact with each other you can see that they are just naturally aggressive and at each other's throat even when they are joking around. So imagine when they aren't.

^^ That's the reason for my first post. I can understand how some you meet like 20-30 people from a particular group of people and it makes you think alot of them are like that, but its just not the case. At my job I give out parking tickets for my school. Being black I actually get more trouble from the black people than I do anyone.

There is some truth to this in my experience. One of my sister's best friends is an Indian gentleman who is a doctor and we talked about this a little bit. What he told me is that many Indians view anyone in a service position as below them, even if it's temporary. If you're a member of wait staff, a car wash attendant, an attorney, or a financial advisor, you are below them. You are in a position to serve and help them, so they maintain the superiority in the relationship. His words, to paraphrase, were "I wouldn't do any of those jobs for Indians. They don't tip well, they don't treat people with respect in those positions, and they don't see anything wrong with that."

Of course not everyone is like that, but in my personal experience I've noticed a trend.
