so my boys at VIP customs have been doing my sound system for years and i ve been referring them to personal friends...
they work quick, and always in contact with their clients. they dont take in cars they cant fit in their schedule, and they work the extra mile, and they dont advertise or market, its all referral base and they chose their clients.
not a big time or huge shop or anything like that...they control what they take in
most of their clients are high paying jobs for full customizations and very sometime little small jobs that fits thru the cracks of their schedule.
If you get work done there, your item/service/schedule is dedicated,
since you are paying for it, so you know when it starts, it will finish right then and there.
anyways, just want to give them some credit.. he manage to slide my car in his tight timetable, even with all that's going on.
i told him i want something hard hitting, no vibration and no dragggy hip hop bass sounding. i listen to a lot of eletronica music and sometimes classical. i dont want the thing to shake my car, and music has to be balanced, precise and sharp, with a little flex of muscle if i need to, and i have a set budget.
based on that, this is what they did:
they set up a few ideas for me since i didn't really know what i wanted till i heard it.
they then got me the subs, amps, speakers etc based on my budget and to his best judgement, to MY BEST INTEREST.
because i order it thru him, i have a 28 day return policy for the items, so i dont mind him taking care of it, instead of tyring to nickle and dime for things which end up costing me in time and sometimes products that i didnt want to settle.
so he came up with this.

http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f369/redempire16/P1011200.jpg
then he installed it.
and told me to see if could settle or wanted something else.
that thing sounds awesome!! hard hitting super clear, everyone loved it.
i took the car back and listened to it for about 2 weeks to confirm... before he gets green light to finish it up.
but it is my car, so i discarded all the compliments and opinions and went on my instinct preference..this is "VIP" customs isnt it?
but there was something missing that i felt, and i explained to them and they knew right away what i was saying.
so, i sold my subs to a friend for a good deal.
on my appointment day, again, based on the budget, he returned all the audio player, speakers, amps, etc and replaced it no questioned asked.
so i dropped it off, and he came back with this within a day.

i listened to it drove it for a couple of days, liked it and confirmed it. he is taking the car back and finishing up in a day
i ll post more pics when it comes back scheduled for tonight.
Thank you VIP Customs, you guys are sexy pants.
this is what it sounds like

if ya want a schedule or a consulting visit for your system or custom ride, interior, dashes, tint, audio, video, alarms, boxes, etc.. let me know, i ll refer them to you.
what ever Mr. pedro approves, i m getting custom suede inserts for the seats, so he doesnt slide around on the smooth leather:

i love the feel and ergonomics of the DSG shift knobs. I use those om my race cars and i wanted one in the SC as well.
they come in black or white and i wasnt sure if the white would look weird in it.
so i called my good friend Bill at Dent Sport ( www.dentsport.com for those who are unfamiliar ) and he decided to send me both colors to try them out.
they just fit so right in my hand and its so WRC feel.
i ve decided on the ivory-like color, as my interior would have more black coming on the trims and carpet.
http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f369/redempire16/photo-5.jpg
i also made a steering wheel column cover with a boat cupholder i found in my office that was sitting on the top of the shelf.
a dremel, sand paper and some wrinkle paint. i manage to preserve the horn and cruise control with that.
it made it a little less home made obvious. i just have to tuck some of my suede material on the top to finish it up.

installed.
some mods to the shroud, battery tray. done.
i wanted to keep the stock shroud and clutch fan.
i ll need to go home to clean up the tabs for the shroud so it will look professional. so far its secured with large washers for the time being but its sturdy.
radiator support tabs need cut a tad, and bolt holes to be slotted to align symmetrically, but i will get that done when i go home with some proper tools and machines.
this is it for now. removal, slight cutting on the shroud, battery tray, drilling and installation - roughly about 40-50 minutes on average.
now time for testing on the dyno.

went to the paint store.
picked out a color after going thru my options with the battle of price of paint vs paint job quality vs total willing to spend after total materials and time spent for prep.
i went with this shade.
starfire pearl was my wish list, costs too much, unless i am going to spend about 2000-3000 on a paint job or spend about 60 hours on my body work getting it ready for prep, and buying extra incase i get battle wounds from drift events...
that option seemed illogical for my budget.
starfire pearl to be done right would need a black base in order to get that effect, so it added up with materials...
i went with this. white crytal off a 2007 mazda code/ rx-8. that was one of my cheapest and consistent option in case i have to touch up and repaint.
oh well, that will do. i will take pictures by the end of the week righ before i shoot the car with this stuff after body work.

so i got the front Origin-Lab lined up.
25mm wider.
one side fits better than the other unfortunately, i was hoping to get both that fitted perfect, but i suppose thats better then both being crappy. lol ..
but i am happy with the overall product.
most, possibly all body kits need some adjustments with the front fenders,
but this one is quite minimal comparing to many aftermarket kits i've installed over the last decade or so.
the bumper, side skirts are the easy fits, the front fenders are the hardest to mold and this is quite good in comparison.

Needs more spacer in the rear :P
your face. :)
the rears are perfect.
i need to work on the front a little. different profile tires in the front and lowered.
if i have spacers in the rear, the car needs widebody, and that will give the car a different look and stance. it will look more like a race car and less like a sleek lady. i ve already tried it.

but if it was stolen or broken into.. thats a different story. somebody actually took the time to try to mess with my stuff. not an act of God.
