so i have a blacktop and its had idle problems for a while. i know a little of the problem is the bov is not reculating but last night it just started idling really low and will stall if i dont keep it reved. but sometimes it will idle at 500 and usta idle at 800 or 700 so i dont know the problem. could it be bad plugs or need a tune?

you have stock ecu. you dont need a tune.
your idle air control valve needs to be adjusted inaccordance to your tps sensor. you need to unplug the tps, bump up the idle air, and plug it back. done.

good luck.

what kind motor u have? plus i dont know your car so its not wise for me to tell you what to do without taking a looky.

but for him, his idle and his tps is alittle off and it dies a little.
what does your do? what motor? at throttle or off?

well, is a redtop and it does exactly wath he described
"idling really low and will stall if i dont keep it reved. but sometimes it will idle at 500 and usta idle at 800 or 700"
it mostly happens when the car is cold, after i drive it alittle is not that bad..
i also have SAFCII, i dontr know if this info would help

well, check your maf, make sure you have a filter on it and that its not loose.
his problem also lies alittle to do with the open blow off valve after the maf. but it sholdnt stall and the iacv needs to be bumped up a tad bit.

you should try that too if you like.

unplug the tps, take a screw driver, and turn the screw open alittle more. plug the tps sensor back. rev it up three times. good to go. i suggest taking it to a professional if you are unsure.

good luck.

its the plug that goes from your throttle body to a some wires and it has a plug. its a fairly large plug about the size of you shrunk wee wee. it should be gray. maybe. just unplug that, and turn the screw counter that between intake manifold runner number 2 and 3 ? yes, but dont do it all at one, slowly, and check. rev 3 times, should stay alive. plug tps plug back.

good luck.

Its is most likely the set screw on the throttle body. It holds the Butterfly open a little, which is how you idle at all.

If you want, you can just block off the IACV entirely, and just let the car warm up before you drive it.

But, just bump that set screw up a little, and your good to go. It has a tendency to go down.
