So, I gave my real first try at using a little bondo yesterday, and after realizing I mixed the hardener wrong, it finally dried this morning, and in all honesty, I'm pretty proud of myself. Alls I need now is to hit it with a little 600grit, and smooth out the rest of my hood, and spray it with some black and bam! front end is back on Lucy.

When I get a new camera, I'll start a new journal on it, and post the progress.
Needless to say, I've been putting alot of time and work into this car, and so far, its coming along pretty well.

if ur "jb welding" u wont need filler just stack it high then grind smooth.

personally i only use filler where its only needed. for instance the mirrors im shaving on the 280, filling the holes with tack welds then grinding smooth = no filler :)

I'd like to do the same, but I dont intend on keeping this hood for a long time anyways, so I figured it was the perfect candidate to try out some filler on.

the thing is.. if you laid excess filler, p600 is not going to cut it.
start with 80 or 120 and go from there.

you'll find yourself cursing and all sorts if you start with 600.
especially if you do it by hand!

gl, havefun!

Yeah, my dad was saying to use that, then a little 200, then some 400 or 600. So, I used the coarsest shit that was on the belt sander, haha, and then some 200 and 320, and said fuck it and sprayed it. Came out ok, haha, from 10 feet away.

I hate it when you bondo something, then paint it, and you can still see the dent. That bugs the shit out of me, but I guess it just takes practice.

Ha, me too, I guess next time I'll make sure to sand it better, and actually use primer, rather than just spray paint, haha.
