just boudght a 93 300zx non turbo
breaks work good but every once in a while i hit the break n the pedal just sinks to the floor
i let go of it n pump it again and it works fine
doesnt always happen but it does happen offten
i never have to pump the breaks more than once
any ideas y this is hapening
i would take look at breaking system but anyone who knows 300zx knows that there aint space to do shit on em
please help

the car has been sitting for about 9 months, rotors r fine pads a bit low but still have life

Brakes need to be bleed.

did you just install the front brakes or all 4?
if just the fronts.. you need to bleed the system correctly.
it is possible to install the backwards also, as miss carina had showed us a couple year back.. lol
it is also possible to install the wrong fitting to the wrong lining as mr. jack showed us that as well at the first install day at finishline motorsports..
but if al is right, and there are no leaks, you need to bleed them. almost 90% the time..
or else your booster or MC is going bad. good luck.

Does it only happen after driving awhile, sitting in traffic on and of the brakes, etc.? It could be that there may be too much heat getting to the brakes. If the brake fluid is old it may have aborbed too much moisture from the air, causing the brake fluid to "boil" which would explain why you have to pump the pedal to build pressure. I would replace the brake fluid first and see if that fixes your problems before I started replacing parts.
