I guess its about time I made one of these for Killswitch, they have been helping me out a ton in the past few months and I owe them a lot.
As some of you know I am a new resident of Atlanta and have been working on cars (Nissan's especially) for a few years now. I know my way around a garage pretty well and do most of my own work so I was interested to see how the shops here compared to the other places I have been around in Augusta and California. One of the first places I visited was Killswitch, during one of their install days early last year, and I got to know Tyler and Decker pretty well just by stopping by randomly and coming to help out on weekends sometimes. I would go and hand them wrenches or shoot the shit for a while and never got any attitude which was nice. They seemed like really good peeps, genuinely into the car scene also which is important to me.
In the interim I went by a few other local places and suffice it to say I didnt get the same impression from them. I kept finding myself making the drive downtown whenever I needed something and referring people to KSP if they needed work. One major difference was the level of professionalism I saw at Killswitch, they didnt bad mouth anybody, talk shit on other shops, give newbie kids shit for not knowing a lot, take advantage of customers, or anything of the like any time I was there. I constantly saw them go above and beyond what they needed to do as a business, such as lending tools out, giving good deals on parts to people that needed them, helping people over the phone pretty much every day, diagnosing things for free, giving people good advice on how to do things on their own, and really just being good people.
Anyways, long story short, I needed a place to work on my car and Tyler offered a space at his shop again and again, finally a month or so ago I took him up on it and moved my car down there. In my experiences not a lot of shops will do this, and I didnt want to impose, but so far it has worked out well and I and couldnt be happier. So, if youre looking to get some work done on your car, need some parts or a second opinion on something, or want to get some ideas on a direction for your project, try out Killswitch and see what you think, they won't disappoint.
