What brand of tire do you prefer for grip driving?

I am asking because I just bought some spec-v wheels (17s) for my s13, and I want to get some good tires. I will use my old 15s if I am drifting, so I want somethin that will grip the road good around curves and in a straight line on the 17s. I'm thinking about gettin some yokohamas, i forgot what they are called specifically. Also, of course i want them to look good on the car.
What do you guys think I should get?

I personally love the BFGoodRich KDW-2's. I run the 255/40/17's all the way around on my STi and theyre awesome for mountain runs. One of the best parts is that the wet traction is barely different than the dry traction! Theyre really sticky cold but once you get them warm theyre REALLY sticky... They have my vote.

marty and cody are pro drivers.
come see WANLI.
recomended..lol.
i dont think you need any yoko advans or anything like that. something decent is nice. softer compound grip better but more taxing.

Talkin to me?
I only have the rears on now because 2 of the tires are more bald than mr. clean. I'll post up pix on my journal thread when all four are on.

If you are not talkin to me then ooook.

Ya know, I dont even know what year they came on, but they are the 5 spokes. You'll see em in my thread soon.

Sounds nice. I always wanted some of the 7 spoke ones, er, 6 spoke, whichever were on the 04+ ones. But, I went 5lug, so no SE-R for me, haha.

Yeah, I never wanted 5 lugs.

I've got Kumho ASX's on my 240 for daily driving, given I don't drive my 240 hard on the street- but they do well in the rain and whatnot. They've lasted somewhat well. I prefer my kumho victoracer's for grip driving though... shaved to 4/32's and they're ready for some action.

ok i am a cheep ass. I bought used tires. But in a few weeks i'm goin to get somethin better. They have like 80%+ tread, so i think they'll do for a while.

I really am liking the these dunlop direzza (sp?) that I bought from dave.

I really like the dunlop Le Mans tires as well.

The Kumho acseta is great doesnt cost nearly as much and has great proformance.

yummy Spec V wheel :D You should prolly get some 225s have something fairly sticky. Those direzzas I mentioned above are great. Fuzion ZRi is a fairly good tire for the price. The Kumho estca(sp?) SPT is also a good choice.

Oh and if they are the 5 spoke ones they are the 02 - 03 ones and they arent very strong rims so dont run over any large pot holes, curbs, or bumps cas they will bend like mother fucker...

All Specs are 4 lug. If you go look in my garage pics you can see what the 04 - 06 Spec wheels look like. IMO they look better on the Specs, but after seeing the 02 - 03 on the other andy's car I think they look better than the 04 - 06s would.

You are correct.

My motor doesnt try to eat itself nearly as much as the 02 - 04s did... :lmfao:

And it doesnt burst into flames like the new altimas lol
