Hello...

[PRODIGY]

Another newb on the forums, I just picked up a '89 fastback with 2 ka24e's for $400.
I'm sure the extra engine was sold on here a good 6 months ago because the car hasn't moved since.

Anyways, I'm from the mazda side with a sleeper family sedan(220whp @ 10psi).
It's mostly built for autocrossing minus the hairdryer under the hood.
I'm done modding the protege so I've moved on to the 240sx.
I love 240's to death as I've helped my half-brother install his sr20det, coil-overs, lsd, exhaust, etc..

I can get the 350sbc, 13b, and 3s-gte engine + transmissions for next to nothing.
The biggest pain would be wiring after the motor mounts + driveshaft are made.

I don't plan on showing this thing off so the only people that will know of the engine swaps will be those on the mazda + nissan forums.

I could care less about the exterior since it's going to be a dedicated track car.

I don't want any non-krylon colors because the body panels will be replaced... haha.





Another possibility for this car is that it may become my $2008 Grassroots motorsports challenge car if I could get a turbo cheap enough.

There's 1000 ideas that I could toss up about the car... I just have to choose the best route.

hehe.. that's my little secret.
I'll probally put a big band-aid over the dent until I pick up a set of hammer dollies to start on body work.
I was suprised as hell to find out that the engine could turn over with jumper cables hooked up because it's been sitting since december.

I'll swap KA's for the time being, but I still have intensions of going hybrid with the car once it's completely stripped.

Thats the horrible side to the car.... which will look better in the end.
I just need to put a 220V outlet at the lakehouse so that I can hook my compressor up to start sanding the body.

I've raced in SCR twice before but the other 90% was in the Atlanta Region SCCA and the Middle GA region.

Yes they are...

Regular jackstands sink into the ground even with a square 1.5' 1" thick piece of wood under them.

I'm still waiting on a garage door + alarm system to be installed in the barn at the lakehouse before I bring the car, air compressor, sandblaster, and tools inside the house.

i see the car mostly all the time whenever i drive down henderson mill road. usually see a motor on a rotator in the garage when garage is up. but thats about it. i stay at the briarcliff commons area. so i see the protege alot.

I got a 350 small block engine for the 240sx for free.
I think this is going to be the cheapest build ever. ($400 total so far)
The only thing that I'll be paying for are a set of headers, trans, custom driveshaft, and a bucket of Rustoleum and sandpaper for the $50 paint job.
I can fab up some motor + trans mounts and exhaust pretty easily.

I hope y'all don't hate me for slapping the v8 in there.
It only weighs about 150lbs. more than the stock KA24e block, that's about the weight shift of one person.

If anyone wants to donate any 2.5" mufflers to the project, It'll help make this thing a sleeper.

I'll definitely inform you when it gets gutted.
It has the powered windows as well... I have no idea if the motors are good or not though.
