So I really like the Hawk HPS+ pad, however I am always after a cheaper\better product that will give me more bang for my buck.

Hawk HPS+ pad for my car is $95 plus shipping for my front brakes only.

I was looking around at EBC Red stuff and yellow stuff brake pads.

Anyone try these?

The EBC pads are great. The Yellows and Reds are pretty aggressive and will wear down quickly though. For street use I would suggest that you go with the Green Stuff pads and a set of their OEM replacement rotors as well.

Yeah Dookie, the Yellows are for race applications and the Reds are for track/street (but mostly track) and the Greens are for street use.

I had a set of the Reds on my Prelude and they might of lasted about 3 months before they were gone.

Check it out:

How bad did you rape the red stuff for 3 months?

Not very hard at all. They're not made for prolonged use (didn't know that when I bought them), they're made for track days, autocross, etc. Basically, they're made for singe use applications. Use them at a good track day and they should do you for the day.

Trust me brother, you will be more than happy with the Greens. Like I said though, I would do a set of EBC's rotors as well to give you the best setup.

Those fuckers feel like they could stop a bus on a dime and make change. You'll love them man.

http://www.ebcbrakes.com/auto-pads.html

I usually buy them from AJUSA.com

I know these hawk HPS+ pads can stop a bus on a dime. lol

You can ask justin, jimi, and lonnie. Greg and I were rolling deep into corners before braking with these things.

I run brembo blanks because I dont like the sloted or drilled ones.

I am comparing my stopping power to I hit kyle's forehead on my dash with the seat beat lock when I slammed on my brakes...

Those are the ones that carved canyons in his rotors, made sparks fly on the highway, and yes would peel your face off... Those are track pads... lol

For those who are curious about the face peeling pads... they are costly but sexy...

I have a new set of the ceramic pads myself. Originally I ordered them for my mom's vert, but the verts have the larger abs calipers and rotors without actually having abs! So, I got her the metal masters instead.

I have not installed the ceramics yet, so I cant say how good they are yet. However, they are for sale if anybody wants them....the pads on my car will not die!

The ceramics are typically easier on your pads, but will produce less ultimate braking power, however they may be better for fade.

No problem, it might be useful for someone else. I just remember seeing videos of the sparks and seeing those rotors after the pads ate them for dinner...

I found that the hawk ceramics are quite good for mountain runs and stuff but they take to damn long to heat up.

I dont want cheap, I want bang for the buck. I want some serious stopping power that lasts a while for the least amount of money.

I think I am just going to go with the hawk HP+ on the front and HPS pads on the rear again.

Unless someone has something really good to say about the EBC pads...

Out of all the pads you listed. The ones you run now, the hawk hp+ are the best ones.

Axxis SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS, of course they work but not nice fast stopping pads

EBC is pretty junky as well.

Leaves you with Hawks.

Its BS! I have red stuff on the Z right now and those things make my wheels blacker than my wife (I hope she's not reading this). They've lasted about 5 months (still going) but they leave their mark all over the wheels. Good pads though. Im getting green stuff next.
