i installed my z32 brakes and and pedal will get some pressure when i pump it but if i wait about 10 sec and pump it again no pressure. so i reinstalled the stock brakes and....same thing. so i was wonderig what is the easiest way to test my bmc?

(and just to clarify i did bleed the lines.)

Make sure you don't have the speed bleeder valve on there still. Go look up the writeup I posted on how to remove this...

that was what flip was talking about, air being trapped in that valve. He was suggesting you take it off and see if that helps.

ok the title of this thread says what is the best way to test BMC? not witch bleeder screw is right for me. im using the the stock s14 calipers, rotors, and pads and it wont hold pressure.

I'm not aware of any way to test without having special tools. If its just a solid line between the master and slave cyl's then do your best to bleed it and if it still dosen't feel good, replace the slave cyl since that's very inexpensive. If that still doesn't' fix the problem, replace the master. Those are really the only things that would affect the system since its relatively simple.

Let me ask this...
do you really need a BMC?
I mean, its like power steering... for your brakes.

If our steering was hydraulic lol... which it's not. Yeah, you can steer the R&P without the hydraulic power assistance...

The brakes being hydraulic, the BMC is pretty integral to braking. :goodjob:

yeah sounds like a bad BMC. unless theres a leak somewhere.

btw he is talking about his BRAKE master cylinder flip. not his clutch master.

First check for external leaks at lines and inside the car behind the grommet

Second disassemble master cylinder checking the pistons and cup seals around them. If your cup seals on your primary or secondary piston get damaged then your pedal will go to the floor.

I will try and find a write up of how to rebuild your master cylinder. Should be in FSM.

also, bleed the lines @ the master cylinder
99% of the people dont do this
air rises...
