View Full Version : Why does every negtive vendor review get deleted?

ive noticed that every negtive vendor review gets deleted and is no where to be found.
I think that the thread should remain there, maybe be locked but should be able to be viewed.
They are there for people to see pros and cons of a shop. Not just all the good ones.
Im not just talking about Killswitch so dont take it offencive but i just noticed how the last thread is gone. Also with the JDM steve and the other Killswitch reviews.
If thats gonna happen then why have a review section?
i think every vendor review should be limited to original poster and vendor

i agree with both. not sure if settings would allow, but it'd be nice to see if everyone got everything resolved when there is negative ones too.

I figured someone would bitch. I'm sure you're referring to the most recent Killswitch review (which I bet you enjoyed the hell out of). It was deleted per the OPs request. He asked for it to be deleted this morning.
As far as the other ones ... I honestly don't know. Threads are only deleted when the OP requests it.

see thats why i said not trying to piss you guys off but i guess it did. i was refering to all of the bad thread. none of them are there.
well i guess since im not a killswitch lover then i have no say, but i was just pointing out something that happened. but if the person that posted it asked for it to be deleted then it should.

this is a good point. it also goes on in any other thread(its like some people feed on having power on a forum by deleting or threating infractions or whatnot).

I didnt ask so much as give permission. Either way I am glad its gone.
I knew things were going to get out of hand.
Tyler has agreed to work something out with me.
Pending this work, I will give a new review. I am really hoping its going to be a good one.

hey so im not pointing fingers at anyone but if you post a new review then it will look like there was never a problem.the person looking at these reviews for reference will only see the positive review. defeating the purpose of writing the bad review in the first place. just because an issue is resolved doesnt mean it didnt happen.

I think that anybody should be able to post on vendor review threads. But if it doesn't pertain to the original post, then don't post it. Stop spamming vendor reviews with pointless crap. Keep it on topic and it probably wont get deleted. Oh, and make sure if you are posting a review to give a reason. Not just, I don't recommend "so and so". Give a reason and explination.

so i guess there should be a rule:
"ANY POSTS, WHETHER POSITIVE/NEGATIVE WITHIN THE VENDOR REVIEW SECTION SHALL REMAIN STRICTLY BETWEEN CUSTOMER AND SERVICE PROVIDER."
MEMBERS violating the rule shall be subject to (i'll let the mods come up with that penalty)
yeah, and i agree that every vendor review, past or present should be left, cleaned of unnecessary blabbering and remain visible for member review.
and i dont think it needs to be said....but fuck it.
ATTN: present/ potential clients of service providers(240atlanta VENDORS),
PRIOR to posting a negative review, ALL POSSIBLE means of RESOLUTION should be exhausted BEFORE announcing your REVIEW, should it be negative in nature.
that way, opportunity and realistic dialogue can be held privately between affected parties to resolve an issue.
this analogy is simple and is directly related:
if you go to a restaurant, order food and it's not to your liking or completely wrong, do you go screaming to FOX5 first? or simply tell the server the issue?

No. There's no misunderstanding. I made a thread in the admin/mod forum asking if it was okay, waited for more than a few hours, no one objected, so it got deleted.

I understand that you're pointing something out ... but as far as what I bolded, I don't think so. I firmly believe that you and a few others on here would perpetuate any negative talk or ideas about Killswitch for the sole purpose of fueling the fire and to favor the shop that you're attached to.

the only person that should post in a review thread is the reviewer or another reviewer with th same opinion. if your review differs then start a new thread. the business being reviewed should answer and communicate through pm until the problem is solved, or there is a mutual disagreement. if the business being reviewed is posting then of course you are not gonna see them like "yeah i fucked up it was shitty", therefore they dont even need to post, all they should do is resolve the problem in hopes that the review is modified to show the outcome. NO SHOUT OUTS or STANDING UP FOR YOU SHOP.

Personally I feel any review either bad or good should always be there and if a resolution was made then it should be explained in the original thread, if not then that too should be explained. I also feel that any vendor having moderator status in that section is a direct conflict of interest and shouldn't be allowed. A thread about a shop being deleted by a moderator who works/owns the shop in question, though it may have been asked for, does pose some questions and looks bad either way. If we are to have a valid reviews section it must be moderated by someone who isn't directly affiliated with a vendor and any thread, either good or bad must remain for people to see. And everyone who is not directly associated with the work in question should stay out of the thread and this is the only thing the moderators should take care of, no more cleaning up what was said or deleting parts of what the person said.

in some cases yes. when carina says im trying to sell stuff of his that i stole? thats complete bullshit. i dont not steal. let alone be a dumbass and try to sell it on the fourm hes on. causing people to not wanna buy from me thinking that its stolen. which i know of one case right now.

for example.
but thats not why i posted this thread. you make it sound like a bad thing. no its not.
i just happened to notice it with the bad recient one.
along with the jdm one, altho hes banded but its not there. or when tyler sold the rb-23 to josh. with the 20 tranny and the 20 crank and 20 harness and he paid for a 25 with a 25 tranny.
thats also gone.

Thats the idea but its hard to keep under control. At first I didn't want to delete posts since as soon as you do, everyone thinks that someone is trying to sway the thread in one direction or another. If you don't delete any, it gets cluttered as hell.
I've just decided to clean them out since I'm unbiased...

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but in my defense ... I disagree. Unless it's something blatantly obvious that needs to be removed, I don't moderate threads that have to do with our shop (or any shop reviews for that matter). I leave it to the other guys. I'm aware that this could cause a lot of bitching and moaning. As long as Flip knows that I'm honest and have integrity, then that's all that matters. When I moderate, I remain very unbiased and I think that's obvious to the other mods.

Bad ones aren't deleted. I don't understand why everyone is getting the idea that all bad vendor reviews get deleted. They're all still there.
Actually I have seen several bad vendor reviews deleted from more than one vendor. They are not all still there.
But, I agree, the vendor section here is a joke and needs work.
Conflict of interest
Most are off-topic because instead of deleting the stupid post by stupid people the thread gets locked which solves nothing
Nothing ever gets settled
and some threads are getting deleted.
I do have a policy that shop owners can not be 240Atlanta staff and I generally wouldn't pick someone that works at a shop to be a mod. It does get tricky when someone that has been a great help to the site for a long time goes to work for a shop. I make sure that everything is still modded fairly which is still the case with all of my mods here...

I dont have a problem with you and I am not saying that you are not a honest person. I trust Flips choices with picking mods. I am just saying it can make for some sticky situations when things like this happen. Its not an opinion, its fact.

well, basically a vendor review will be deleted for a couple reasons.
1 if the op requests it.
2 if there wasnt an issue and the op was just kicking dirt.
we leave others around if it was resolved and what not. but honestly, when an issue is resolved usually the op requests it to be deleted to begin with.

We can close them, but we prefer not to delete them.
In some cases, it seems, the thread goes out of context completely or bystanders get involved and we have to do something about the thread.

Certain peoples threads should never be deleted.
To show their character, or lack thereof.
I have only ever been burned by one seller on here. And he's no longer on here... because of his own actions against our community.
That's how that works.
