i have full z brakes and stock BMC. i've had no problem at trackdays and such, pedal feel has always been good for me.

Almost any bigger brake upgrade is going to require the bigger Z32 MC. My STOPTECH brakes felt crappy until I got the Z32 BMC.

No it is not necessary, yes its a good idea. With full Z32 brakes you need to move more fluid to get the same pedal feel. The stock master cylinder simply doesn't have the capacity. If you have an ABS or an auto S14 then the difference isn't as great so they do ok but the S13's really have poor pedal feel with the stock cylinder.
