It's true, there is no replacement for displacement. Turbo's and such only get you so far- I wouldn't mind driving it around for a day, or a year.

what are u talking about? it said "Sporting a twin-turbocharged LS1 and pumping out around 840Hp"

they started with an LS1 v8. That's the 'no replacement for displacement' i was talking about. Yes I know it's TT and whatnot, but really 840hp on a TT LS1 is actually somewhat 'mild' I hate to say it but it is, but it's probably built to last more than one race.

but why would you replace the rb26 with a ls1?

r34 is such a heavy car also..

useless/failed attempt to make a good platform bette.

This is very true- I saw on topgear actually an R32 gt-r completely built pushing like 850ish awhp or something along those lines... 2.8L though, they upped it a wee bit, a little bore job.

But the answer to your question... corporate sponsorship.

It's the only reason these people do these things, it draws attention and people talk about it- like us right now. We're discussing it and constantly seeing the advertisements all over that car, even if we think it's dumb we still see the companies and that's all they can ask for.

I'd take an LS1 corvette... and an RB26 r34...
I don't like the mix all that much... but I'd drive it if it was given to me, much like most other cars.
