yea, tiger ftw
ForceFEDS14 bought his motor from sammy and it runs amazing. sammy also makes the oil pickup on every motor he sells bigger for better lubrication and checks the compression to ensure its a quality motor.
oh yea after we put the motor in his car we checked the timing and it was already set perfectly, if i was to buy one i would only go to sammy.

red top is from s13 right?
how bout for s14 sr motor?
im looking for about 400 whp.
and i dont wanna drift. :P
im a road race kind a guy.
zebrafantastic
02-19-2009, 04:58 AM
redtop and blacktop are from an s13.. the s14 sr's have a slant at the rear of the valve cover.. your going to have to build the fuck out of an sr to get 400 reliable hp
Keith
02-19-2009, 05:00 AM
s14 sr, just do turbo, injectors, and a good tune, and you'll be set
bomjoon
02-19-2009, 05:01 AM
^ what? i thought SR was a better motor than that?
how bout RB25?
has anyone done 4g63 swap? lol
then all i would need are bolt on parts with stock turbo to make 400 at the wheels.
Infinite

stock bottom ends are good for a reliable 550hp
decent turbo, intercooler, downpipe, exhaust... injectors, fuel pump and a tune will get your 350-400 easily
add cams and an intake manifold and you've got very reliable power
Keith

a little bit more detail, but that was my point lol:wave:
zebrafantastic
02-19-2009, 05:05 AM
if you have the resources i'd go for the rb25.. i wouldnt put my money on stock sr holding 550 hp. ever. not even a rebuilt motor
Infinite
02-19-2009, 05:08 AM
shows how little you know
its been done time and time and time again
its all in the tune
rb25's sound cool and make torque
but unless you are really good friends with someone in austrailia, finding oem/replacements parts is a bitch.. ebay cant solve all problems
not to mention iron block = stupidly heavy
rb25 transmissions are also hard to come by... and much like the sr, anything past 350 grenades them left and right but there is another way around that
zebrafantastic
02-19-2009, 05:12 AM
on stock internals!? ive never seen it.. havent done much research, it just sounds almost absurd to me for a stock internal sr making power like that.. mine would blow up for sure

so what would you guys recommend for good 400 whp powerplant?
how bout built KA?
i dont wanna get like a v8 and throw off the weight distribution.
Thomas
02-19-2009, 05:18 AM
ls1 weighs about the same as a ka

just go SR, and do it right

sr is cheaper. and HUGE aftermarket support.. i suppose that's your best bet.. built KA's can make some HUGE power though.. just ask djQ

KA are an Iron block, the LS1 is aluminum of some sort I believe. They do actually weight very close to the same weight.
