Hello,
Im a Moderator and very active member on 240atlanta.com. We at 240atlanta.com and southeastdrift.com would like to personally invite you, your wife, and family to come to a local drift event with us next season. We hold nearly 15 events a year. but what sets us apart from other events is that 2 to 3 times a year we hold Night events. A few track lights, headlights, and cones in the middle of a track in the middle of nowhere. for drifting all night long.
South East Drift and 240atlanta have been promoting Track-Safe drifting since their foundation. These events give even kids with completely stock cars a chance to slide their cars to the limits for the price of a set of tires and a very affordable driver fee. This past season i attended my first drift event. Learning the way a car handles when you have the opportunity to push the car entirely to its limit draws respect to the car from the driver. and really gives a new light on the dangers of drifting the streets. Some members go to their first event and spin out every other corner. That alone can and does make members completely refuse to drift on the road. for fear of damaging their expensive parts or even worse, hurting another person or themselves.
These events were created for safety and of course fun. All drivers skill levels are welcomed. Opportunities to help younger less experienced drivers are available and encouraged through ride-alongs and instructors. Vehicles are inspected to be road worthy and safe. and
240atlanta.com is a local forum with nearly 2000 total members and 700 continually active members. As Partners with South East Drift we bring together local drifters and 240sx enthusiasts. Our branches touched metro Atlanta, Georgia, parts of Tennessee, we even have members that i know of in Florida, Ohio, South Carolina, United Kingdom, Texas, Alabama, and certain many others. Our members primarily center their involvement on 240atlanta.com around the Nissan 240sx, however. we have drifters that drive many other vehicles. Mustangs, Mazda Miatas, Camaros, 350z's and others are just a few examples of the diversity of our local scene.
Myself and others firmly believe that the Drifting Scene in Atlanta will be almost fully converted to track-only drifting with the help of institutions such as South East Drift and 240atlanta.com. People From both of these organizations have stepped up to promote, fund, and volunteer at these events for the sole purpose of creating fun events to help keep kids and street drifters from endangering others and themselves on the streets. I am a firm believer that in order to prevent potentially dangerous acts of motorsports on the streets you must embrace the motorsport and endorse it and promote the legality of that motorsport on the tracks. Drifting is a very growing sport and without 240atlanta and South east drift, there would be plenty more new drivers "drifting" on the roads. I say that in quotes simply because its not really drifting when you drift around in a parking lot or even worse, an intersection. its drifting when you contain your skills on a track. and once members get a chance to feel their first track day they never want to go back to street "drifting".
Once again. Our 2009 season should explode with even more popularity than 2008 and we would love to have your family attend. Simple attendance would give everyone at 240atlanta.com and south east drift inspiration and acceptance in a city (atlanta) very critical of drifting. And hey, it might just be fun away from some of that political campaigning. :)
P.S.
I'm sure we can keep the press out of there.
Regards,
Casey Walters
