I am upgrading my stock s13 front brakes to r32 aluminum calipers. and i have everything. ss lines/ rotors. etc. now i am wondering if i need to upgrade the Brake Master cylinder.....?????

i"ve been told its best to get an s14 Auto Brake master cylinder
Will it bolt up .. do i need the booster too.. ?? will that bolt up to a stock s13?????

You have to cut a stock BMC apart to pull out a fitting that goes in the middle of the Z32 master, its really not that hard.

This has been covered a thousand times online.

its not too hard or you can always just buy a master cylinder with the little nipple already installed.. I think frsport.com sells them..

ive got z32 front calipers and stock s14 brake master. its a little mushy but ive never really run into an issue with them not braking enough.

however, my rear brakes are really crappy. ive got stock brakes and decent pads. and theres almost no bite with the stock master. especially since ive got really sticky tires back there. so on hard braking if i pull the ebrake it will stop my car significantly faster before locking the tires up.

im considering upgrading to z32 rears in the future. when / if i do that ill be adding the z32 master.

and yes you can buy master cylinders with the fitting already in place. but you can also cut your stock master cylinder apart for the fitting. easiest way would be a dremel and alot of patience

if youre only doing the front, you can keep the stock mc. if youre using the rear also i would reccommend using the 15/16" 300zx z32 mc (there are about 4 or 5 different ones but the 15/16" usually works best). im using the stock mc with and i have no probs stiff pedal with 12 pistons to brake with. if you feel soft go ahead and upgrade the mc. if its stiff jus ride it till you blow the rear seal on the mc.
