I have a '96 Zenki and am looking at 18x8" wheels and they are available in offsets of 42 & 45. I'm concerned with rubbing issues and will be rolling the fenders. Which fit better once I lower the car?

If anything you should worry about clearance on your suspension side, those wont come close to filling out the fender. If you dont have coilovers up front you will want to check the height of the wheel/tire combo, vs the stock setup.

^ what he said

stock Z touring wheels (18x8 +30) w/245's rubbed fenders in the back slightly, 225's they were ok but they didn't have a lot of susp clearance

always wait on wheels to come to you, they will appear as soon as you spend your funds i have found when i have acted too quickly, unless the wheels are priced @ a price that makes them an investment

wrong

depending on the width of the wheels and how much suspension clearance/adjustability you have you are fine with a higher offset. look at my car 18x9+33 and 18x10+30

still wack. no shit that wider wheels yields getting by with a higher offset, but still wack. post a pic looking down the side of your car.

true, but i was stating my opinion. dont tell me i cant. but no 18x8 +45 will deff rub your suspension. and if you have coils it will rub even more. theres your answer.

now this is fitment....

225 and 255 /40 i think, i need to go look and order another set of tires actually

i can fully agree with that statement

i have the 19" rays off my G35 on my s14 w 245/40 on rear w/ JIC coilovers and no fender mods and it doesn rub. . i do need to go with 245/35 or or 225/40 to make it match the front tires. oh and no I dont plan on keeping them on there, 19's are def overkill, looks good but not good to slide on. . . need 18's again.

ive got megan racing coilovers. and 17x9 wheels 21 offset

the wheels themselves come very close to rubbing the coilovers up front. about 1 or 2mm away from it. and tires with a rim protection end up rubbing depending on how low you set the coilovers up front.

megans are notorios for having sucky fitment. other coilovers are better at it.

my 17x9 are 21 offset.

i run a 225 45 17 tire all around. and have zero rubbing and fitment issues. at my ride height currently.
i rolled my fenders *not pulled, just flattened flap*

an 18x8, 40 something offset is going to be moderately flush up front. a little sunk for what i like. but your wheel will sit ~10mm more inside your fender than my 17x9's those 18's are made for frontwheel drive cars.

if youre set on 18x8's then i would look at a 20-30 offset personally.

and in all reality you could run 18x8 0 offset on an s14 and it would tuck nicely with a stretched tire. or if you ran 18x8 10 offset you would have about the same fitment i have with my 17x9, 21 offset.

consider different wheels.

18x8 / 18x9 stagger fits great on an s14 :)

you could go 18x8 20-30 offset and 18x9 20 - 30 offset and have a nice wheel fitment for a daily.

if you want pictures of my car pm me ill send you pixzorz. or you can check previous wheel threads on here i posted some.

ps. consider 17's tires are cheaper.

ive got 60percent tread all around and paid 120 bucks total for the tires. used tires. (225 45 17)

bf goodrich gforce ta kdw
and dunlops up front.

18's are harder to find used and are more expensive :)
