v-empire

you need 7 but pour 3 and check on the 4th.

doesnt matter for your case. get the cheapest oil . buy the most expensive filter you can find. best to use oem nissan.

hellfire
06-09-2007, 08:07 PM
Its a KA. SOHC at that. Use supertech or whatever is on sale.

And dave, your confusing the man..

You use about 4. Pour 3 and check the 4th like dave said. Don't buy 7 quarts though..

~The_Duke~
06-13-2007, 11:57 PM

I guess you avoiding my question about how much you are spending total.

~The_Duke~
06-14-2007, 12:05 AM
I spend about 35 on oil and filter.

5w30 and 10w30 is a a measure of the thickness of the oil. 5 is thiner and 10 is thicker. 5 is better for proformance 10 is better for protection...

How in the hell is there a 2 pages thread about changing your fucking oil?

Andy C
06-14-2007, 01:07 AM
lol. How do you pump gas?

Wes
06-14-2007, 01:28 AM
Ha, I pop the cover, unscrew the cap (turning it counterclockwise), insert my credit card into the pump, select no receipt, and grade 93, insert the nozzle into the filler hole, pump about $10-full (depending on how much money I have), hang the nozzle back up, and then screw in my gas cap(turning it clockwise), close the cover, open my drivers door, get in, press the clutch, turn the key (towards the front of the car) crank the car, then I buckle up, put the car in 1st gear (with the clutch still pressed in), slowly release the clutch while slowly easing on the accelerator, and then I drive the fuck off.

Thats how I pump fucking gas. Just like when I change oil. I raise the car, get under it, loosen the drain plug and the filter, let the fucking oil drain, put a new filter back on after checking to make sure Im not double gasketing and after rubbing oil on the rubber seal part, screw the filter back in handtight, fill the car, start the car, and then check the oil after I cut it back off, and if its good, I close the fucking hood and go about my business.

And I use whatever fucking oil is under $2.50 a quart, or is on sale, as long as its not Quaker State. And I use a fram or STP filter, just because A. I just dont give a fuck, and B. I dont want to drive all the way to fucking Gainesville or Buford to get a fucking genuine Nissan filter, when I can buy one for half price at the fucking parts store.

Now on my RSX-S, I use Mobil Oil, and a Honda filter. Just because its new.

Sorry for ranting, but 2 fucking pages about an oil change, and mentioning that you need a fucking FSM to change oil is retarted. If you have to look at an FSM to change your oil, you shouldn't even pop the fucking hood. Sure, look at the owners manual to show how much oil to add, just to save time, but having to use the goddamned FSM is rediculous.

Fuck.

Sorry, its been a long day.

06-14-2007, 07:27 AM
Me and my manlyness got the oil cap off. lol

I also showed him the trick with the jack handle on the racket for more leverage so that he could get his drain plug out.

I showed him where the oil filter was once I found it. That motor is more of a cluster fuck than the QR is... lol

Casey
06-14-2007, 10:07 AM
mk basically i swapped synthetic in my motor when i bought it... drove it for a while then needed an oil change...
ended up draining about one freaking quart out cuz it was leaking oil...
idk why but it still sohwed up on the damn dip stick... anyways
i threw some 10w40 regular in there with a new filter ect ect... day after... started leaking from like 8 different spots on what appears to be my oil pan...

next day i sprayed everything out with a high pressure water hose nossle thing... so all the gunk is gone just black now... and im gonna look for where the leaks are comming from
my guess is that they are seeping out of the oil pan because i might have overfilled it a little.
is the level of the oil below the oil pan gasket? if so this would make sense cuz my motor is like 180k miles ... bad oil pan gasket... idk
i might have hit the oil pan on a rock in my parents driveway cuz its low and... they ahve a hilly gravel driveway.

but i think it was the oil change...
im gonna check the level and make it perfect... by draining a tad out... idk i dont really care about this motor it sucks i just need it to run for another 2 months... cuz im saving every freaking penny up from when i get a job for an sr swap... ><
and my student loan is going to pitch in.

babowc
06-14-2007, 10:04 PM
lol.
just deal with the leaks,
unless you re-gasket your pan, it'll keep leaking.
and dont add no additives to make it "better" b/c it wont, lol.

just tough it out! :D
whenever i cant get my oil cap loose, i use a mallet and tap it on the direction where it needs to spin..
it wooorkkkssss.

carlova78
06-15-2007, 02:07 AM
yeah i got all that off. but i got the wrong size tool for the filter

carlova78
06-15-2007, 02:07 AM
ill skip the filter and just put new oil in

Casey
06-15-2007, 04:45 AM
no
><
just take a screw driver
and jam it through the filter to take it off
then hand tighten the other one on
i cant remember if its a size 14 or size 17 socket
but thats the ONLY tool required to frekin change ure oil lol

and babowc
i think the oil leak is fixed
i overfilled al ittle
and the level was at the gasket so it was leaking more
now its a lot less bad

switching back and forth is bad. You'll probly have to replace seals. If your oil pan is leaking you can try tightening down your oil pan bolts. Also make sure theyre all still there...

I didn't really understand your post. But.. Synthetic will bring out all your leaks.

Tyler

yep

yeah i got all that off. but i got the wrong size tool for the filter
