I just dropped my RB20 in and the tuner/romulator that is with my ECU is a little sketchy ( www.xtronics.com ) the Pocket Romulator- I've never heard anyone using it, and I have never heard of it before it showed up with my motor. Supposedly it's tuned for my 440 injectors and the other upgrades...

but down to business, has anyone had any experience with the E-manage ultimate? Talking to mike at Tophat when I was picking up some hoses, he says it's about the only way to go in his mind. I'm just wondering if anyone on here is using one- how do you like it? I'm thinking I may as well pony up and get the E-manage and sell this ECU with the romulator, and pick up a used RB20 ecu from Tophat.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Oh and if you want to know the motor/car setup here it is:
RB20 motorset
stage 3 clutch (forgot the brand off the top of my head)
Greddy BOV
Z32 MAF
440cc Injectors
fuel pressure regulator/high flow pump also
GT32 turbo (stock manifold milled/welded for external Wastegate)
Tial 38mm external wastegate
3" SR20 lower downpipe, I'm making the upper part myself
NGK AFX wideband
Apex'i N1 3" exhaust
Catco high-flow cat (I'd like to pass emissions at some point, with some tuning)
KYB AGX strut/shock combo
RS-R 'heavy duty race springs'

So does anyone know anything about the Greddy E-manage? Complaints or anything?

Oh and here is the romulator that came with my ECU...

I've used the Pocket Romulator before. It's just an emulator device that emulates an EPROM program for your ecu. it can make adjustments to timing and/or fuel but we have only ever used them to fine tune a map before burning it onto a chip. back in the day it helped us from having to burn a new chip everytime we wanted to change one setting.

As far as tuning my car though... when I open up the pocket rom software- It's a lot of hex and also ASCII coding options it looks like. Definitely not the easiest software to use from what I can see so far. But when it comes to tuning the motor- how well would this compare to the e-manage ultimate? I know the e-manage is pricy but if it's a good tuning platform then I'll go ahead and get it. Plus I can easily switch it from car to car if I decide to sell this one or anything else.

Emanage Ultimate is great. Probably best bang for your buck without going standalone.

You can adjust timing, fuel, log, go MAP, etc through it.

Thanks for the response Tyler. I autocross with the guy who owns www.diyautotune.com so if I decided to go megasquirt I could possibly get a good deal- but that's later in the project, for right now I'm thinking the E-Manage will be a nice setup.
