is it normall for it to catch like almost at the point where your foot isnt even on the pedal. got my first 240 today, first time driving or riding in one. and the clutch doesnt catch till like im almost off the pedal, so i only hafta put the clutch in maybe 1 inch to switch gears and start from a stop, is this normal. it doesnt slip it just does this and i HATE it. i think im gonna get a spec 6 puck stage 2 cause i hate this clutch.

whats a bump stop, like so i have a clutch that i only cna push in about 2-4 inches? if so thats cool. yeah i can get a clutch if i can get 35$ together lol. i can get a spec steage 2 6 puck. but id rather get a ka24de to swap in first, then put the clutch in that tranny.

yeah it does will, when i did my swap i couldnt even bleed the clutch due to the adjustment, then i adjusted the pedal out and it fixed it

yeah my clutch did that when i put it in. it jsut depends on how you like it. you said you dont like it so just adjust your clutch pedal. you take a cotter pin thing out and you screw the bracket in then put it back on and see where it is. then keep adjusting until you get where you like it

i can still do the clutches cullen... $100 cheap. you need to get the flywheel turned... and you should be able to reuse the clutch for the new engine as long as you aren't burning tires or slipping the clutch. basically, don't mistreat it.

SOHC and DOHC clutches are interchangeable.

And in all honesty, unless you get all the parts dirt cheap, DOHC swap is a waste of money.

well i need a DD and i can get a motor under 100k for 400$. and i wanna go ka-t. i dont like sr's and i think ka is a better motor.

*Shakes head*
You worry way too much.

Just remember all the extra money you have to spend to get that DOHC running in a SOHC car.

not that much... do it? i just my motor isnt that great, its deffinatly not a motor thats in the mood to be boosted.

it like sputters after about 4 to 4500 rpms. idk how to explain it, the rpms jump a little like back and forth and it just yeah, it stalls a couple times when i put the clutch in while rolling. but i think thats the clutch idk what.

not that much... do it? i just my motor isnt that great, its deffinatly not a motor thats in the mood to be boosted.

$100ish for EFI harness
$15 for a DOHC intake pipe
$25 for a coil
$40-50 for a MAF
$$60-70 for the PS lines and whatnot.
$50 for a DOHC ECU

And I'm pretty sure Im forgetting something.

You basically will have like, $650 atleast in parts.

And mileage doesnt really make a motor a great motor.

My first Civic had 212k on it the night I wrecked it, purring like a kitten. Buddy of mine bought the motor, put it in another Civic and sold it. Guy he sold it to still drive it to this day, and that was 4 years ago.
My S14 spun a rod bearing at 146k.

Im just saying.
My SOHC I had would outpull just about any DOHC car I've ever sat in. Maxima278 will attest to that.

Not to mention, then you have to pay someone to swap it all in.

So basically, you have around $1500ish spent to gain maybe 10whp.

well wes, can you pm me what you think i should do to make my motor a canidate for boost and DD. ill tell you want im doing tomorrow.

I'm no expert with boost by any means.
In the 10 or 11 I've had over the years, nothing with boost yet.

I DOHC swapped my hatch, and personally felt like I wasted money and time. I understand where your coming from. I thought my SOHC motor was a POS, but fuck, Fernando drove it everyday after I sold it to him. Sure, DOHC is nice, you get a newer motor, more aftermarket, I suppose, but to me, its just not worth the money, if you're gonna spend nearly $1500 to get 10whp. Spend an extra Grand, at most, get some tools together, and buy an SR, or something.

I mean, personally, I wouldn't KAT a DD, but thats just me.
Really, I wouldnt mod anything but suspension/interior/exterior on my only car.

I realized this alot back in highschool. I never had a fast car, but my shit was always in the parkinglot or out and about friday nights, when buddies would be trying to make their shit faster, but it never ran, if that makes sense.

Regardless, its you're money, do what you wanna do. But in my personal experience, DOHC swap was a waste of time for me, when really I should have just bought a new SOHC EFI harness, and ECU, and just drove my hatch and enjoyed it, because the only real reason I swapped it all, was I had a shitty wiring harness in my hatch, and just didnt want to spend any money on SOHC shit.

Check the compression on that SOHC, do leakdown tests and shit, see what all it needs, if it checks out, fuck it, boost it. If it blows, get another. Or just swap to DOHC, and spend an extra $200 for a DOHC turbo manifold.
