I don't know if this is the correct section for this, but I have a question. The SR that I bought was originally an automatic, but came with a 5speed transmission. The guy I bought it from told me that the ECU that came with it was the auto ECU and that it didn't have a speed governor or rev limiter because the automatic transmission took care of that. I've heard that auto ECU's don't have a speed governor, but is it also true that they don't have a rev limiter?

I know one sure way to find out, but I really don't wanna go out and check, because if it's true that there's no rev limiter I'm gonna have some more expensive problems than just buying a 5sp ecu or bee*R rev limiter.

Nobody knows anything about this?

I found my answer! The 63 ecu doesn't have a speed governor but DOES have a rev limiter. That's good to know.

haha wow lots of members...
well my KA auto ecu has a rev limiter but not a speed limiter...
im unsure if the rev limiter is in the transmission or not... i would immagine not because rev limiters are electronic....
dunno if that helps

Already found the answer, but thanks.
