We at Drift-Clinic have teamed up with Ter-Tech to offer a Florida Pro-Drift Series for -09. Before you get upset, the future does hold plans of including GA also; but, They don't want to be another series that failed because it got to big to fast. We would like to invite any of you who can afford it to join the series, its open to all.
Harri at Ter-Tech is the chief of this operation. Drift-Clinic is offering its support in the North Fl and South GA areas. We are trying to make sure there will be enough local events to support the series and its drivers practice needs as well as host a qualifier for the Northern region.
The qualifiers will be to find out if we can get the minimum of 16 drivers for a Pro Drift Series.
Ter-Tech will have the first pro driver qualifier Nov 1st at South Florida Fairgrounds in West Palm Beach. The season -09 we will put together a 4-6 event series for the Pro drifters and will also introduce a Street class for the beginners as a stepping stone to the Pro class. Pro class will be tandem based and street class will be solemly on judged single runs.
The events will be hosted at several different tracks which we will announce later this year.
Schedule will be also posted as soon as all the dates are locked in.
Sponsor opportunities for the drivers will be helped by the fact that the series will be covered by OctaneTV amongst other media.
If there is interest, we can hold a qualifier at Cordele in the near future. It would be just like the Drift-Clinic Practice/ Face-Off event that just passed; except, you could walk away with a Ter-Tech Pro-license or a Street Class license. You would not need a cage to qualify for the pro-class; but, should you receive a Pro-License, you will have until the season opener to get one installed. Street class drivers will not need cages as they are judged on solo runs only.
There are going to be 2 stops in Central and North Florida and that would be enough to put you in the points run: if you are doing good after that, you would just have to make 1 trip down to South Florida to Moroso for the Finale and see where you stand! Thats only one trip that is over 6 hr driving time from Central GA. The point of this series is to offer an outlet that does not require you to cross the nation in order to be in the points running.
Tentative Track Schedule:
1. Moroso (Season Opener) March 28th 2009
2. Orlando Speedworld
3. TBD
4. Charlotte County Speedway
5. Moroso (SEASON FINALS) August 15th 2009
