This kid has 91 240 KA24DE and he has run the piss out of it and it runs like crap. He's inexperienced and doesn't know what he's doing. He asked me to take a look at it the other day (won't idle), so i went out there. He started it and it stumbled to life with the use of WOT. It also backfired oil smoke through the intake, which i believe is a result of incorrect valve timing. I shot some cleaner down in it, ran MUCH better. Any ideas on the smoke through the intake?

valve guides/seals?
the motor is fucked. just let him know he needs to sell it to me for cheap.
You think it's the valve guides. The motor wouldn't be fucked he just needs to have the head reconditioned or put seals on it. The smoke SHOT out of the intake and that would be the valve guides leaking oil? He's got 3 more KADE's, i'll tell him to sell itto you if you want. what are u asking? He's not too smart when it comes to cars, so you could probably get it pretty cheap. The timing chain is also slapping pretty hard.

thats valve/ignition timing. for smoke to blow out the intake, its backfiring. and i need a chassis bad. doesn't hurt if it drives...
