Wow,
What a week has passed. I have to say that alot of friends helped me out BIG time in the last week or so with my new car. If most of you dont know already I have sold the LS1 s13 coupe and got into a 97 240sx with a fully built SR20DET... I know I know I went back...But only for a short time:D
Long story short I got the car last Sunday. The car is awesome, but it needED some DRIFT inspired items and alittle Marcos Ruiz TLC...
By Monday night I started a little list of things I needed.
New Turbo
New Manifold
New Dumptube
New Downpipe
New Turbo lines
SAFC
and a few misc parts...
With my old wheels being sold I had the funds to make this happen...
So I went to Tiger racing Monday afterwork and talked to SAMMY about the new project and the things I needed. I told him I wanted this that and this changed and running by Thursday.. I know it sound demanding especialy since I really didnt want to hear what all he needed to do to other cars there.. I just wanted mine completed before the drift event @ Spartenburg that my buddys Chris and Chad organized for the weekend....:wavey:
After pushing some strings and borrowing Flips new turbo 20g(shhhh) He was on vacation...The other one was going to be in by the time he was back I promise.. -Thanks FLIP
Back to topic. Most of the parts arrived by WED... So Sammy had to have my car together and running by Thursday night.. Sounds like a short deadline but after all were talking about THE BEST SR20DET Mechanic in GEORGIA..So the job was an easy task for him.. I arrived at 6pm after work on Thursday and the car was complete.. I couldnt believe it. Sammy HOOKED it up big time..THANK YOU SAMMY....
Now the extra part comes in...The car was not running so well since the SAFC was not tuned for the new set-up.. I had already set-up and appointment to get dynoed next Week, but that was to late.. I needed to make the event..
I called MR SEXYPANTS himself "DAVE" and proceeded to find someone that could make some room for me.. The first person on "DAVES" mind was Lethalinjection.... He said my boy JEWISH DAVE works there and with his new tuning skills and a $180k dyno machine it would make for a good match. I said damb you mean JEWISH DAVE with the 280z??? I know him from way back late 90's when I got my first s13 coupe. I couldnt believe he was still around wrenching.. I liked him than so I said lets go for it.. So we made the call to him and it turned out he was at his buddies wedding..
After some crazy vmails JEWISH DAVE calls me directly on MY cell phone and says lets make it happen.. This was at about 7pm friday night.. I was so happy. This was going to be an after hour job and he was up for the task.. He was still at the wedding, but was keeping me updated on TEXT when he was leaving. He called me again at about 9pm and said be on your way to the shop... Let me just stop here because I dont think you guys are understanding this...
JEWISH DAVE STOPPED HIS PLANS AND IS NOW MEETING ME AT LETHALINJECTION TO TUNE MY CAR AT 9PM FRIDAY NIGHT... WHO DOES THAT...:screwy:
I showed up at about 9:45pm.. "CUBAN TIME"
He was prepping the dyno.. We caught up on a few things and he showed me the shop.. So I think the official time was about 11pm when we started..
I was very excited at this point because You know its a new car Im tempted to see what it can doo...
We strapped it down and started a baseline tune to about 4500rpm..Just to see what the numbers were at 9psi.. We creeped slowing the next 2k rpm's and forwarded all the way to redline.. The car made almost 300whp at 9psi.. The Air Fuel Ratio was perfect and WHP/TQ/Boost lines was slim and not wavey. We continued to about 14psi and with FINALS NUMBERS OF 360WHP AND 300TQ I was super HAPPY. I think I ended up leaving at about 3am...
THANK YOU JEWISH DAVE AND LETHALINJECTION FOR THE LAST MINUTE HELP..
All in all last WEEK was an AWESOME week and I appreciate everyone who helped with my car...
p.s. I didnt make the event because of a small leak of oil in the ebay special oil pan. It needed to be resealed and I was to tired to mess with it....
