what is the the preformance difference between a manual and a electronic boost controler?

usually most people prefer an electronic boost controller..
im pretty sure the manual controllers mount in the engine bay, and the electronic mount in the car..

im gonna get the apexi electronic boost controller.. i've seen it many times in 240s and they all like it, and its only like $50

the apexi avcr is more like 450

manual boost controllers rely on a ball and spring design which is crude and sometimes has trouble regulating boost. they dont allow the wastegate to stay completely shut, it creeps open as boost builds.

electronic boost controllers are microprocessor controlled and are much more reliable and accurate. they keep the wastegate shut until the very moment the desired boost level is achieved, allowing for more power when compared to a manual. some also feature scramble boost featureswhich allow you to set a higher boost level for a specific amount of time, say if some redneck loving camaro owner pulls up next to you at a light.

i prefer the world electronics boost controllers, very nice prodcut at a decent price

Exactly what Infinite said.

Manual boost controllers are shitty. Old fasioned, horrible at keeping steady boost, and allows tons of spikes.

Electronic ones control spikes, and are adjustable from inside the cab.

ohh hmm yea my friend has a turboxs manual boost controler but he doesnt have it on yet

if you couldnt get it over 11 that was either that the profec wasnt set up right, boost leak, turbo issues or other.

does it help to have more features to it? or is it stuff you dont need.

Features are just that.. Features.

Some boost controllers let you set Gain. Some have a built in boost guage. Some have a battery meter. Some are in color. And on and on.

You just have to see what you want, and go with it.
