After my motorswap the front of my car picked up about .5". I think this is cause of blown struts but I'm not sure.
I want to lower the car 1-1.5". But I don't want the front end to sit higher. I don't want to get coilover just springs and struts. Will new struts cure that problem?
Secondly with my civic I had to get a camber kit with a 1" drop. Does the s14 have adjustable camber or do you need to buy UCA's? I'm still on stock rims now but I will soon be getting 350z rims.

there is no upper control arms on your car.
just get some coilvover and rear upper control arms for the back. you are straight.

^^ LoL, That makes no sense. He does have upper control arms. Hence the "RUCA". But anywho, springs and struts will lower the car, and throw some RUCA's on there like dave said and you'll be able to correct the Neg camber in the rear.

my mistake, lack of explaination
i thought he was talking about the fronts since he mention civic and its uca's.
civic has double wishbone suspension up front, i thought he was referring to the upper control arms up front. we all know what R-UCAS is already.

yeah coilovers is the way to go on s-chassis.
complete adjustment.
and when you drop your car an inch in the rear you pickup almost a degree of camber. so youre gonna want rear upper control arms for the rear like dave said. and the front is a mcfearson setup. which means theres 2 bolts holding the strut to the spindle. and one lower control arm. aswell as a tension rod, then tie rods of course. the strut tower holds your wheel upright. not an upper control arm. coilovers gives you camber adjustment for the front. but you dont really need it when you go lower. your camber doesnt increase nearly as much in the front as it does in the rear.
two great suspention upgrades for cheap are a full bushing kit all around, and tension rods.
if you have a base model s14 look to see if you have a rear swaybar, if you dont. investing in one of those will help your understeer issue @ stock ride height. atleast, it did mine. stock SE swaybar is fine if you dont wanna fork the dough over for an aftermarket one.
edit- youre 5 lug and sunroof so im pretty sure you have a swaybar. look and see :)

I lowered my car about 2.5" which isn't as low as my Megan coilovers can but but I had mine alligned and I still have 3 degrees of negative camber in the rear. And if you do lower it get it alligned, period. It fight feel pretty good after you lower it but once you get the toe fixed it's a whole different ballgame. Don't lower without doing RUCAs at the same time too. I only have the coilovers and now when I do get RUCAs I will have to take the rear coilovers off again to put the RUCAs on. Don't waste your time like me, do it right the first time.

i drove for almost a year slammed with no rucas. and more camber than you have.
and only ate through 1 set of rear tires in that year

Plus, it takes all of 30 seconds to unbolt the rear coilover.

Check out Eibach Sportlines with KYBs or something...good stuff for a fair price. Coilovers are nice but there are expensive for a good set. As far as camber goes, use camber plates for the front and RUCA's for the back thats all you'll need. You can usually find this stuff used for a good price.

If you're just getting shocks and springs and not lowering it a bunch, you can just get those eccentric camber correction bolts. They're much cheaper.
I may have some adjustable shocks and springs for sale in a few weeks if you're interested..

^^ Yep, you could do that too. But with RUCA's only being ~$50 might as well.
Tyler
Oh wow, I didn't know RUCA's had gotten so cheap.
..except for that awesome deal you had on those footwerks ones. I really wanted those, but I was too late to the party. :(

I'll worry about it after the 5 speed swap is over. :)

I didn't say he would go through tires, I said the difference is totally different, which it is. I got my allignment and it got rid of the pull and everything. Handling and comfort was greatly improved after the allignment.

Well before the allignment, on that uhh.... day when Steve drove your car and I was there too, everytime he shifted the back end slipped out, lol. Will you need help putting in the new clutch? I'll be doing my swap soon so it will give me a chance to see what I'm getting myself into. :)

Thanks for all the help guys.
Yes I have front and rear sway bars. I'm not going to get coilovers. I'll probably get springs and KYBs as someone said earlier. This is what I had in mind when I started this thread.
