because i cant afford grip racing, and there are no touges in my general area, im forced to get my dick wet by drifting

and doing that with a corolla with 240sx SE Wheels on the back is a pain in the ass lol. I dont know if the tires/wheels were keeping me from doing what i could

or the fact that the clutch was slipping a little later on (but suddenly stopped...wierd)

or the fact that i might be pushing 80 to the wheels on a good day.

But something is keeping me from drifting to my full potential

One would think it would be as easy, or easier to drift a s13 hatch..but nope. These damn cars are a pain in the ass

by the time i get outta 1st gear 2nd gear is dead :( idk i gotta fix this clutch issue cause the clutch kicks are doing anything, so im forced to rev up to 5k just to get it to break loose again, but by the time i rev it and pop it i stop drifting

overall tonight was decently fun

only had one extra set of tires that lasted the WHOLE night, and still had plenty of life on them (best junkyard tires EVER) so I still have some to fool around with later this weekend :D

but anyways

corollas = slow

but damn do they kick ass on curvy roads :superman:

grip racing is not too expensive, and i love it when drifters call it grip racing. back before there was drifting what was it called? racing?

Seems to me actual racing would be cheaper to partake in than drifting, since you potentially tear up a lot more drifting.

lol at the "Grip" racing comment, so true. But yeah, it is more expensive than drifting when seat time vs. price is considered. Most drift events are ~$100, and you get a lot of runs. The last event I went to (like 3 years ago hahahaha) I had over 25 runs in one day. Compare that to standard racing and youre looking at a lot more than a $100.

SCCA and NASA cost a lot? I've seen more drifter with body dmg and 50 gazillion sets of tires.. I like watching drifting, don't get me wrong.. but I still fail to see how it is so much cheaper than regular racing.

the hardest think about racing is finding a place to do it.. and figuring out how u wanna do it (club racing, pdx/hpde , club trials, ect) and also most entry fees are well over $200 and when ur drifting really all u normally tear up is tires.. and u can come buy these extremely cheap if u search around.

im talking initial fees such as safety equipment etc, if i raced it would be road courses and i would have more than just a 4age lol

but drifting is cheap as hell for the beginner

cut springs
weld diff
junk yard tires on 15" wheels..shops GIVE them to you now a days...

much cheaper in that sense. Pro drifting on the other hand...thats a racing budget
