I was coming back from the movies just now on 85 South and I pass a black civic hatch. I see if he wants to race and he doesn't play so I pull ahead and there is another civic hatch and its white.(at this point I see a front mount on it)

The guy driving is asian and has a buzz cut. He honks his horn 3 times and we're off.

I downshift to 3rd and I get about half a length on him.
He gains speed and passes me.

I catch up to him and try to run him again.

He beat me the exact same way.

Im pretty sure he had a boosted K20.

they sound a little different, but usually you can't tell unless you look under the engine bay. Their intake manifold is upfront and the header is in the back. Basically the motor is flipped around from your basic b-series. Those things raperaperape when dropped into the eg and ek hatch chassis. Search youtube, they will run 13's out of the box in either of those chassis.

Play with tire pressure and play with launch techniques. I have seen people get sub 2.0 60 foot times with crap tires and open diffs.

Heck, my buddy had a 1991 Eclipse that was totally stock (turbo, boost, etc.) with regular street tires and he could pull 1.9 60 foots...

If you really need some help with launch techniques...PM me! lol I am a master of extracting the maximum performance of vehicles! Also, if you can learn to launch your car, you can take advantage of the rwd advantage!

Sidenote: I have had several friends, co-workers let me run their cars at the track, for most of them it was the first time I ever drove them. My one run was faster than any of their multiple runs..... 60 foot is critical for any race.

Well that's not that heavy, I guess it's just it being huge and tall it feels heavy, but at the same time the steering is effortless, it takes nothing to turn the wheel and there's no small bump feedback from the road so it's great for a DD.

you would have lost to my old integra too so don't be so surprised. honda's can be fast as balls especially from a roll like that.

there's a video on the net somewhere of the CFT civic blowing the doors off a Viper on the highway.

there are plenty of daily driven boosted b18's that will run 11's all day. boosted k20's are an expensive swap and not that common either so just because you got beat by a honda does not mean it was a boosted k20, that has become a stereotype of sorts.

Duke has more torque than me. In the first run right when we started, he got a length on me. I caught up and passed him.
