So I know this is a weird coincidence, but I put in some transmission fluid in the gear shifter hole and put it all back together, and now my lights don't come on. The headlights flip up and turn on, but none of the others light up. Also, they don't illuminate when I signal for a turn. Also, my dash lights are out along with all that. My interior fuse box of course doesn't have a cover, so I dunno if they're all linked or what. Or is this typical from a loose ground? I know others have probably run into the same problem, so what did you do? Thanks in advance.

ok, here's an update... yes my rheostat is up, or is it a potentiometer?
hazards work fine.
when its warm outside my lights come on.
when it's cold/night time, my parking lights/dash = no light!!!
Could be a couple of things. I'm betting that you fried something in your TCM (Timer Control Module). It's easy to do that when you remove any of the dash stuff. If you ground something out that will do it. Also the ash tray is on the same circuit that the dash lights are on so make sure you didn't ground out the ash tray light.

i think theres a ground wire that goes on one of the 4 bolts hoding the shifter boot down.
check it out.. maybe bad ground.
